Amber beer (8 % alc. / vol.) refermented in the bottle. A speciality beer brewed over lees in winter using the first malt and hops from the last harvest. Roasted malts give it its characteristic amber hue. Obtained by top fermentation, the "Biere Nouvelle" is characterised by fruity flavours and a good bite. Biere Nouvelle must be served with care (leaving behind the fine yeast sediment) at about 10°C. Available from February while stocks last in 750 ml bottles corked and stamped

Bottle at a tasting. Thanks Oren. As "3 Monts Grande Réserve". 8.3%. Slightly hazy deep golden to amber color with a big white head. Aroma of fruity esters, some malt, honey hints, a bit of alcohol and some spicy hops notes. Sweetish flavor with a bit of caramel, fruits, a bit of alcohol and a drier finish. Medium-bodied.

UPDATED: JUN 13, 2014 Bottle bought at Systembolaget 8/6-14. This is the 2014 version. The beer pours clear golden with a bubbly frothy head that settles to nice foam layer over the beer! Like last year, the beer is clear golden, giving suspicion of filtering? The aroma is different from last year, more sour than , reminding me more of a belgian red ale or a lambic. In the taste, the sourness continues. This used to be a very malty beer, but now it is sour like a lambic. I first thought it could be a defect but the same taste comes in a second bottle. The sour taste takes away many points from this beer, which used to have such a lovely malty taste. There are hardly any hops in the taste too, which is very different from last year. The mouthfeel is medium-thin, also very different from before. I have to say that the 2014 Bière Nouvelle is a disappointment from 2013 and I still wonder if this is a defect in the beer. Not as bad as the terrible 2011, but nowhere near as good as 2010, 2012 and 2013!

Big thanks to SFLpunk for sending this bottle my way. Served in a Captain Lawrence tulip. At the time of consumption, the #3 Biere de Garde. Reviewed from my tasting sheet. Pours a clear golden color with an average, fizzy white head and some spotty lacing. Thin cap throughout. The nose is light and smells mostly like pilsener malt. Light cardboard and bread. Very grainy. The flavor is quite grainy as well. Light body and no contribution from yeast or hops. Fizzy carbonation and a dry finish. Not my cup of tea. Serving type: bottle

Clear amber of color with an off white head. An aroma of caramel, hops, metallic and toffee. A flavor of sweets, caramel, weak hops, weak bitterness, to much alcohol domination.

Thanks to Alex... Dark clear gold with an off white head... Smells like a biere de garÐe, honey, apicots, champagne, some yeast, a touch to sweet but good... The taste is very malty on the front but the finish is a touch alcoholic, so so

Bottle. Tastes like a slightly darker and less drinkable Leffe Blond. Sweet, yeasty, fruity, spicy. Nothing exciting here.

Pours beautiful deep orange copper with huge beige longlived head leaving plenty of lacing. Aroma is malty, fruity, spicy, yeasty, raisins, hops and alcohol. nose with a hint of cherry. Very nice malty sweet mouthfeel. Flavor is malty, hoppy bitter, slightly pungeant, spicy, fruity sweet, perry and grassy. Finishes with a nice warming alcohol touch and pleasant malty bitter aftertaste. Really enjoyable beer over today’s BBQ dinner, great carbonation, colour ... delightful.

Aroma: yeast, grass, straw, corn, bread, hay, earthy hops, spices, banana, citrus, alcohol. Appearance: golden colour, medium white head. Flavour: yeast, alcohol, grass, straw, citrus, hay, herbs, wheat. Mouthfeel: incredibly carbonated. Total: Good beer, but nothing that excites me.
