COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Amber beer (8 % alc. / vol.) refermented in the bottle. A speciality beer brewed over lees in winter using the first malt and hops from the last harvest. Roasted malts give it its characteristic amber hue. Obtained by top fermentation, the "Biere Nouvelle" is characterised by fruity flavours and a good bite. Biere Nouvelle must be served with care (leaving behind the fine yeast sediment) at about 10°C. Available from February while stocks last in 750 ml bottles corked and stamped

750ml 2014 years vintage rated 8% ABV, corked brown bottle with a label featuring a windmill, poured into a Tulip glass. Appearance is cloudy orange with a large frothy beige head, that reduced quickly leaving some lacing behind. Aroma of vinegar, apricots, pears, apples, lemon zest and barnyard. Flavours of lemon zest, wheat bread, pears, dried apricots, apples and a hint of vinegar. Taste is light-medium sweet, medium bitter and light sour. Palate is medium bodied, soft texture and lively carbonation. Overall a great beer, interesting flavorful style with observable notes of Belgian yeast. I would have liked it even more with a higher ABV like the older vintages, this beer has enough body to carry it.

Bottled. This beer is reminiscent of red wine or champagne. Pours a light orange color with a snow white head. It finishes like wine, but perhaps not as bitter. This 750mL bottle was well worth the $7.00 I paid for it.

ricke (476) - Malme, SWEDEN - NOV 17, 2009
Golden yellow with a big white head that stays around for quite a while. Aromas of wheat, malts, some hay, yeast, spices, bubblegum. Some alcohol. Not a very powerful smell. The taste is of sweet malts, some caramel, spices, perhaps some honey, faint grassy hops, plenty of yeast and a sweet taste of bubblegum. The finish is quite short with a minimal bitterness to it, faint mineral notes and some hops. Not very powerful. Interesting rather than good. The sweetish alcohol is very noticeable. Medium body, plenty of carbonation. The texture is quite sticky which becomes irritating after a while. At some levels, this one’s rather interesting, but it doesn’t taste that great. The sweet candy-like taste of bubblegum I noticed and the rather prominent note of alcohol became disturbing after a while. Serving type: bottle (Copy of old Beer Advocate review)

Bottle, 75 cl. Clear golden. Effervescent. Was expecting more body, harsh and metallic. I did not enjoy this beer.

clear amber color with a thick off white head. Extremely high carbonation and a lively mouthfeel. The nose shows white grape and apples. Pears and brioche on the palate

Bottled as Grande Reserve. Slightly cloudy orange color with a beautiful large white head. Aroma is sweet malt, yeast, hops and spice. Very soft body. Flavor is much the same as the aroma, however the hop/spice finish is more pronounced. A complex beer but exceedingly drinkable. Tres bien!

You can certainly tell that this beer was made ihn France because the aroma and flavor is reminescent of a red wine that is very rich in flavor. I problalbly make this rating because this is the first sampling of this style.

Hazy deep orange body with a lovely sticky white head and moderate lace. An almost champagne like aroma with hints of mustiness and anise(?). Wonderfully full bodied, much in the manner of a fine Belgian Trappist Ale. Very peppery, malty and a slight warm alcohol feel on the back of the throat. Amazing.

Aroma: hoppy, yeasty, pears, fresh hops. Musty but refreshing. Fresh.
Appearance: typical orange yellow lager but fluffy foam. Nice lacings.
Flavour: refreshing, hoppy, chemical, special, pears... Galia melon aftertaste.
Palate: delightful, even though it’s bubbly and acrid it is charming...
