30.4.2014. Slightly hazy dark amber. Aroma has plenty of malts, caramel, resin, raisin, fruits, a bit pine. Palate is lowish carbonates, medium bodied. Taste has caramel malts, berries, and goes towards long bitter finish. Taste is simpler than aroma promised. Maybe not that well balanced.

Bottle, BB 01.01.2014, shared by FatPhil, thanks! Pours amber with beige head. Aroma is sweet, caramel, malt. Flavor is sweet, caramel, malt, fruits. Flavor follows the nose. Alcohol is well covered. Overall: simple, but nice. I suspect I would enjoy fresher bottle even more.

Bottle of some sorts. Liquid of sorts to drink. Feels like summer in a glass. Very good. Fruity grassy. Goodness.

330ml Bottle (Thanks mjs) - Hazy copper with a small head. Pine, raisins, floral hops and malt in the aroma. Caramel, pine, raisins, sultanas and some slightly soapy notes feature in the taste. Tasty and enjoyable although this (an.American barley wine) is where it strays into double IPA territory.

At a tasting, thanks hermod, small stable bubbly head, very cloudy deep orange color, aroma of wood, herbs and shrubs with some bready maltiness, flavor of shrubs and herbs with some caramel, bread and biscuit, light to medium bitterness, lingering and long lasting, relatively light bodied. Nice and enjoyable, though not a barley wine.

UPDATED: FEB 4, 2015 Bottle as a gift from Espoo. BB 11.2015. Pours translucent amber with moderate cream-coloured head. Retention and lacing ok. Aroma is raisiny and plummy, notes of caramel and malts. Taste is similar, semisweet, some moderate bitterness in mid-taste... Hints of alcohol detectable. Finish is grainy and not pleasant. Body medium, carbonation soft. Very ok and easy to drink after a shit day but overall it’s rather simplistic and boring. Too bad...

Edit: my initial 2.9 overall score was way too harsh. I’m having it again a few months later and whereas I stay with what I said about it being rather simplistic and boring, I’m gonna push it up a few notches as I’m quite enjoying it now and don’t find it as sub-par as I did earlier.
