Pours hazy copper. Taste of malts, with slight sweetness to it, just a small bite of alcohol, but it is overtaken by the caramel taste. Has a lingering bitterness, which I always like in beer. A very dark, full taste.

Aromaty słodowe, wyraźny chmiel, nuty grejpfrutowe, zapach bardzo przyzwoitego double IPA, bobofrut - przyjemny aromat. W smaku owocowe fest, odrobina kwaskowości, delikatnie słodowe, goryczka średnia ku wysokiej, zalegająca ale przyjemna. Am. B.W. bardziej jednak jak double IPA. alkohol nie do końca ukryty, siecze ale smaczne. Zaciera się jednak granica pomiędzy DIPA i Am. B,W. Piwo jednak bardzo pozytywne - być może nie w stylu ale wrażenia bardzo dobre :) - po ogrzaniu jednak nuty słodowe są bardziej wyraźne, podobnie jest z alkoholem - jednak barley wine ;)

30.4.2014. Slightly hazy dark amber. Aroma has plenty of malts, caramel, resin, raisin, fruits, a bit pine. Palate is lowish carbonates, medium bodied. Taste has caramel malts, berries, and goes towards long bitter finish. Taste is simpler than aroma promised. Maybe not that well balanced.

Draught @ TCBW 2015

Pours dark orange with a small white head. Aroma of caramel, syrup, toffee, sweetish malts, some fruits and citrus. Taste is sweet, stuffy and malty with loads of syrup, caramel, toffee and hints of hops. Finish is sweet, stuffy and sticky with some fruits and caramel. Too sweet and stuffy for my taste.

330ml bottle from Alko

Batch #452-3, BBE 01.10.2013 - Pours dark reddish orange with a foamy and bubbly white head. Aroma of caramely malts, yeast, grassy hops, berries and syrup. Taste is malty and hoppy with hints of glue, berries, grassy hops, vanilla, lemon and caramel. Finish is sweet and malty with some ripe fruity notes, rough bitterness and slightly disturbing notes of berries. Okay, although a bit unbalanced barley wine.

Draught @ Tallinn Craft Beer Weekend 2015 as ”Sunset at the Gasometer”
Aroma has bready malt, resiny tones and some melow berry juice. Also bready malt. Flavour has resin, bready malt, some grapefruit and some grapefruit. Also mild worty tones. Decent but does not reach the top.

33 cl bottle @ home. Batch #452-3, BBE 1.10.2013
Aroma is surprisingly light and slightly sweet with some ripe, exotic fruits and vanilla. Flavour is sweet with lots of strawberry jam, hints of ripe fruits, distant vanilla notes and slight feeling of warming alcohol. Also some salmiac and licorice notes at the end of the glass. Quite high drinkability for a 8% barley wine. Too much strawberries here ̣– and where are the 80 IBUs?

33 cl bottle @ home. Batch #468‐9
Took another bottle of different batch as I heard that there might be better bottles of this. Nope – this one’s even more berryish.
