Clear medium orange colour with a large to huge, fully diminishing, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate to light heavy hoppy, butter. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, sharp, fruity, buttery. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120726]

4th August 2012 ChrisOs Marvellous Pre GBBF Mega Tasting. Clear gold beer, frothy pale cream coloured head. Light dry palate. A little creamy malt, fresh. Light piney hops with a trace of marmalade. Touch of honey in the malt. Dry finish.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Psytron (874) - Turku, FINLAND - SEP 13, 2012
Smell of... licorice? Also some hops. Cloudy amber colour with orange head. Very sweet, lightly bitter. (Rather strange considering the 100 IBU.) Bitterness starts to push through really heavily when warmer. Aroma of hops, licorice, sugar. Very flat carbon, oily.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Leighton (6913) - London, ENGLAND - SEP 9, 2012
Bottle at Chriso’s 2012 Pre-GBBF Shindig, London. Pours clear gold with a sturdy, white cream head. Mild pine in the nose, some bread. Pretty big sweet flavor, sugar, moderate grassy bitterness, caramel. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Sugary finish, with notes of caramel, toffee, and pine. OK.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 sm89walt (1585) - Norwich, Norfolk, ENGLAND - AUG 21, 2012
Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2012. Poured a golden amber with a fine white head. Tinned fruits, some peach & pear. Seemed more like a basic golden ale with spice notes, extra sweet toffee malt & just a subtle hop presence. Medium-ish body, spritzy mouthfeel with a medium length bittersweet tang. Too sweet for the style for my tastes. Too sweet in general, in fact.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 planky84 (1631) - , Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 17, 2012
Bottle at Chris O’s pre-GBBF shindig, 2012. Honey coloured pour with a white head. Caramel and citrus aroma. Toffee malt and citrus flavour. Sweet fruit finish.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 jackl (2521) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 17, 2012
Bottle @ Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig. The pour’s light amber with no head. The nose is light peach, hops. The taste incorporates light summery fruits with some sweet grain. Not much of a hoppy punch. Medium body. Overall, not particularly pleasant. This isn’t a DIPA in my book, or atleast what I expect one to taste like...
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Marstonlad (171) - Helsinki, FINLAND - AUG 11, 2012
@ SOPP 2012. Pours bright copper with a big head. Aroma is full of grass and herbs; hop presence is strong, as it should be. Some citrus fruits can be noticed too. A sweet taste and a nice palate: full enough body, feels smooth and finishes bitter. Not as varied as the best American style DIPAs but still a good one from Stadin Panimo.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Scopey (3239) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 9, 2012
Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig, 2012. It pours golden yellow, with a thin white head. The nose is glue, white sugar, tinned pear and apple. The taste is rather sweet, sherbet, pear, apple and toffee, with some dryness in the finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Definitely not what I’m looking for in Double IPA.....
