Bottle 33 cl. Pours hazy copper orange with a smooth big and lasting foamy head. Scent is pretty good has some fruit and apricot in it. An interesting taste with notes of some fruits, slight apricot, slight bitterness. Well rounded beer with nice body. Maybe slightly too bitter but not too disturbing. Refreshing.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 FatPhil (7496) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - MAR 2, 2013
330ml bottle (Alko Arkadia, Helsinki)
On pouring, a lovely crisp grapefruity citrus and exotic fruit aroma. In the glass, the head gives off a classic saisony belgian yeasty aroma, fairly spicy, but sweet too. Slightly biscuitty. Pours a mostly clear orange with huge spongy head that’s fairly persistent. Quite light in the mouth, pleasant carbonation. Spicy and bananaey retronasals. Heavier later, some slightly bocky (i.e. plasticky) sweet malts. Slight saisony funk, but mostly this is just a hoppy belgian ale. Plenty of spicy hops, quite herbal and undergrowthy. Finish has some lighter more aromatic fruits, as well as a nice earthy bitterness. There’s a little bit of everything, it’s a curious mix.

Hazy amber colour. Sweet aroma with flowers and grapefruit. Taste is sweet malty and bitter, full of citrus and some belgian yeast. Surprisingly heavy body and smooth palate. Enjoyable, easy and perfectly balanced hybrid of American hops and Belgian beer.

Amber beer, frothy/lacy head. Piney hop nose, sweet fruit juices, peachy notes. Dryish, smooth malt flavor, light acidity. Yeasty and somewhat tart finish with nice bitterness. Medium body, soft and frothy texture. Nice saison.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Marstonlad (171) - Helsinki, FINLAND - FEB 21, 2013
Bottle from Alko. Pours cloudy dark copper with a massive, frothy head. Aroma has hoppy floral elements but also citrus fruits and yeasty spiciness - all that you can expect from a saison. Taste is medium sour and light bitter in the finish, hoppy and yeasty elements balance each other nicely. Flavours of citrus and spices feature most in addition to the floral notes and even a little bit exotic fruitiness. Palate is surprisingly smooth and medium bodied. Nice saison, in the end pretty typical for the style despite the name.

330ml bottle from Alko
Batch 476-7D, BBE 1.9.2013 - Pours dark orange with a foamy white head. Aroma of floral hops, grass, funky bretta notes, hints of orange and spices. Taste is floral, malty, quite dry and fruity with hints of stuffy sweetness, spices, pepper and mild bretta notes. Finish is malty and crisp with some sweet caramel and floral hops, hints of yeast. Quite malty and sweetish for a saison, and the bretta notes are a bit too subtle for my taste. Still quite tasty, though.

Dark orange beer with a medium beige head. Wow a lot of cloudberries in the aroma when poured in a glass. With the sweetness and ripeness of fruits and berries it also has this bitter kind of aroma and yeast as well. The taste is a bit sour and bitter. Not too much sourness as I don’t like too sour beer but just greatly balanced. A hint of sweet caramel, toffee, grass, lingonberry. Medium body, dry. Good amount of carbonation. A very good beer from Stadin panimo.
