(Draught at Kaisla, Helsinki, 13 Nov, as "Stadin American Lager") Golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty, hoppy nose with bread, grass, citrus and a touch of resin. Malty, hoppy taste with notes of citrus, grapefruit, some resin and a generous floral bitterness in the finish. Medium body, quite dry. Slightly sharp carbonation. Well made and tasty lager with a generous and fresh hop character. Nice one.

Bottle. It pours a big, off-white head over an almost clear, golden body. Some lacings. The aroma has lots of yeast and chalk, with a fruityness and some maltyness in the back. Sweet, fruity flavor with yeast, chalk and a little bitterness. Medium body, with a pleasant but high level of carbonation. Lasting yeasty finish. Not very good this one, way, way too yeasty. 141024

33 cl bottle into a stemmed lager glass. Slightly hazy straw color, small head, little lacing. Hoppy floral smell, very fresh. Crisp malty taste is followed by floral citrusy hops with a slightly harsh dry hop bitterness on the aftertaste. Medium-light body, medium carbonation. Overall a really good lager.

33 cl, bottled (4.5 %). Aroma: Malt, grain, balanced hopping. Fruits, grapefruit. Dough/yeast? Some berries. Taste: Medium sweet, grainy flavours. Quite nice actually. Doughy flavour actually resembles yeast. I like it. A bit harsh aftertaste but not bad at all. Palate: Near medium body, pleasant bitterness. Good.

Zarkam (516) - Helsinki, FINLAND - FEB 18, 2014
330ml bottle, hazy medium yellow colour, small frothy mostly diminishing white head, little lacing. Heavily hopped aroma of grapefruit and spruce backed by moderate maltiness with notes of hay, caramel and dough. Taste is initially fairly balanced, soon turning into a long bitter finish. Light to medium body, watery texture, almost flat carbonation. Well hopped and fairly interesting aromas, especially for a lager. Almost nonexistent carbonation made the palate rather unpleasant though, could’ve been a faulty cap.
