Bottle, 6.5%. Aroma is smoked wood, roasted barley and some ham with minimal hops. Flavor is smoked woods with muted ham, tar and some yeastiness. Aftertaste is roasted barley with some plastic. This is one of the top brews from stapa I’ve had, the yeastiness is too basic though.

olio (4080) - Tampere, FINLAND - MAY 18, 2013
33 cl bottle (6.5%). Batch #497. BBE 01.11.2013.
Pours deep dark red, almost black color with a large off-white head. Some mild smoke is the first thing on the nose, dry and a bit roasty malts, dark chocolate and some cocoa. Flavor is a bit of a letdown, some vegetables, smoky malts and mild chocolaty coffee notes. A bit of tar also. Not very pleasant taste, too messy and home brewish. Medium bodied, a bit creamy palate with a somewhat bitter finish.

lusikka (4039) - Tampere, FINLAND - MAY 16, 2013
330 ml bottle.
Pours a dark brown, almost black colour with a white small creamy head. Aroma of smoked malts, pungent wood, some roastiness and berries. Flavour of caramel, smoked malts, metals, unpleasant berriness, strong dough-like yeastiness and grassy notes. Some vegetable-like notes when it warms up. Medium bodied, slick mouthfeel and berryish, musty, malty finish. Alcohol comes through. Reminds me of a homebrew really. Far from proper smoked beers.

33cl bottle, #497. BB 1.11.13. Poured dark brown with a thick beige head. Aroma has roasted malt, smoke, molasses. Flavor has tar, smoke, roastedness, mint candy / licorice. Sweet finish with some cocoa. OK, but quite sweet for my taste.

Very nice smoked beer. Lots of smoke, hints of whiskey-like things in the palate and unique touch of rye. Stadin Panimo rules ok!

Bottle. Dark brown color with a thin head. Smoky aroma of Scotch Islay whisky and rye bread. Smoky, bitter taste of sausage.

Bottle from Alko, Kemi as Stadin Savuruis Portteri. Almost opaque dark brown beer with completely dissapearing head. Strong aroma has smoke and rye malts. Smoke dominates the ryeish flavour as well. Medium/full body. Delicious beer with a lot of smoke.

TET (1094) - FINLAND - MAY 9, 2013
A dark brown beer with a medium, dense and light brown head. Aroma is dry and smoked, wood, chalk and hint of fruits. Taste is strongly roasted, almost burned, lots of smoke, nice and balancing sweetness, turf in the aftertaste that dominate. Medium+ bodied, weak and smooth carbonation, nice and easy to drink. Aroma is not totally convince, but the taste and palate save this beer. Dry smoked and turf -type of Smoked beer.

RexTalionis (1420) - FINLAND - MAY 4, 2013
Bottled, batch #497. Pours dark brown in color with a small tan head. Roasted notes, some burnt rubber as well in aroma, the rye would be contributing for that I guess. Taste has got more of smokey tones though, a bit of some sweeter notes are there as well, a bit of chocolate that would be, but as said they are a bit in the background of them smoked notes. Smooth mouthfeel and is actually quite nice towards the end with nice smokey and some light cocoa powder notes in aftertaste.
