3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Best before 01/11/13. Bought from alko as savuruis portteri. Almost black with a large long lasting off-white head. Aroma is smoke, ashtray, a hint of booze and roast. Taste is harsh ashtray, roast, smoke and a hint of hops and malts. Aftertaste turns into a nice hoppiness. Dunno, not really enjoyable, maybe better when fresh.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
330ml bottle (Alko Arkadia, Helsinki) - batch #497-8, BB2013-11, drunk 2014-02
Pours deep red with a slightly fizzy beige head, however, it’s somewhat self-supporting, so ends up looking nice and tight. Very dry, almost surgical phenolic smokiness. Rather thin, for the style, lacking the esters that English real ale stouts tended to have to make up for feeling a bit thin, active carbonation. Smokiness a little cigarettey. So yes, it’s a little tobaccoey as well as deeply roasted. Finish quite tinglingly bitter and burnt, quite a throb. No sign of the alcohol. Nice, but no wow - needs a little more body perhaps. Aged nicely to give it some dryness and carbonation, but maybe aged too much, so that it’s begun to lose some body. Hard to tell, and no way now of finding out.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pint in Wäiski. Nice appearance, nice foam on top. Sophisticated taste. A bit empty and watery. Strong taste of smoke. I am not really sure if I like this much smoke taste. After this every other beer tastes water. So timing this the last one.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottled 330ml from Alko. ABV 6.5%. Dark brown color, small brownish head. Wood, wet smoked in the nose. Medium-bodied, crisp carbonation. Ashy, tobacco flavor. Quite decent maltyness, no alcohol. Quite special, not anything to drink in quantities.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Black with meagre white head. Smoky aroma, with some roasty coffee. Medium sweetness in the beginning, light bitterness at the end. Palate is disappointingly watery. Ticks many of my favourite boxes on paper, but doesn’t really deliver on this promise: just too soft and light.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Dark brown, average and mostly diminishing light brown head. Moderate - full, malty and sweetish aroma, roasted malt - light burnt malt, some coffee and faint smokiness. Body is medium to full, malty and lightly sweetish flavor, some roasted malt and some coffee, faint smokiness and light hoppyness. Finish is average, malty and dryish, roasted malt - light burnt malt, light dark bread and light coffee, light hoppyness. Dryish roasted porter - not really a "rauch bier".
