2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
330ml bottle, erä no. 363, 4.2% ABV, from Eat & Joy Maatilatori. Beige patches at the surface of a red brownish body slightly hazy. Dark malt-fruity aroma. Caramel malts mixed with berries and fruity acidity. Bittersweet down the throat. Flat and dry, and a bit disappointing (hotel room, Helsinki 05.02.2011).

33 cl bottle @ home. Rated on 20.12.2010
Aroma has some rye bread and dark fruits. Flavour has sweet rye, some licorice, hints of chocolate and coffee. Too thin and not good, rye beers are not for me.

330 ml bottle @ Rajaportin sauna, Tampere. BBE 30.4.2011.
Pours a reddish brown, slightly hazy colour without head. Aroma of caramel malts and slightly toasted malts. Flavour of caramel malts, aged hops and dried fruits. Medium bodied with a slick mouthfeel and a dry fruity finish. Requesting a fresh bottle.

Pours brown with a light head. Light aroma is malts and caramel. Flavor is fruits and malts. Surprisingly light for a porter. Quite ok.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Yllättävän vaalea, punertavan ruskea portteri. Vaahtoa on todella vähän. Tuoksu on hedelmäinen ja hieman rukiinen. Hedelmäinen, lakritsinen ja leipäinen maku. Hieman kuiva ja paahteinen. Hedelmäistä ja hieman pihkaista humalointia. Hiilihappoja on todella vähän ja olut onkin melko laiha. Erikoinen portteri.

UPDATED: MAY 22, 2011 Rating is an average of keg and bottle.
Draught (Ville Waino, Helsinki)
6 Slightly creamy aroma, packed full of rye
4 Deep reddy brown, small tight head
7 Lovely bready taste, rye bread of course.
4 Gentle body, clearly a weakish beer, but very quaffable. Finish very roasty.
13 Good one to glug, and a blessed relief from the overly sticky nature of the double-O I had before this.
Rerate: 330ml bottle (Maatilatori, Helsinki) BB201104, drunk 201105 (5:3+:5+:3:10=2.6)
OK, maybe I left this a little too long, but when I got to it it still wasn’t properly conditioned, but had begun to show some acidic notes, and a touch of lacticity. Slight carbonation, but no head. Watery, and a little raw, some toffee in the nose. Some hint of hops and roast grains, but dwarfed by the minerally water. A little homebrewy.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottled (From K-Market, Kamppi, Helsinki). Ambery brown colour with small off-white head. Aroma is some rye, burnt wood, mild ashes as well as some mild berryish and yeasty notes. Flavour is dark dry fruits, some ashes, mild berries as well as some wooden and ryeish notes. A bit thin and more like a brown ale than a porter.
