Draught @ Villi Wäinö. Hazy amber, thin white head. Light soury nose, citrus, yeast, quite spicy. Flavor has yeast, dough, citrus, spices, hops. Interesting tripel-like brew with some twists.

Tap@blackdoor. Yellow, cloudy. Fruity malts on nose. Really fruity- apples, pear, melon, like a fruit cider really. Good soft smooth body, almost creamy, real nice. Dry, bitter, but nicely soft though. Apple seeds&zest flavour-wise, pale malts, some hay. There’s probably some yeasty tripel esters there, but the fruityness is just so overwhealming right now. I guess this is a bit too young. Doesn’t taste like a triple, more like a fruit beer/cider. I hope I’ll find it after a month or so...

Dry hoppy aroma, closer to the belgian style than the dubbel was. Peppery hoppy bite, but also plenty of sweet malts and yeastiness. My last Stadin of the evening, and a good one to end on. Rating rediscovered while packing for a move in 2010. Yes, I was an idiot - I should have stayed for the Stadin Festari Sahti, and Barley Wine.

Lovely sweet malty mammi aroma, lots of raisins, plenty of oxidisation too. Pours a flat dark orange, with almost no head. Wow - what a gorgeous taste. Everything from the aroma is improved - beautifully rich malts, some mjod-like aspects, lovely sherry for the raisins. Palate is a bit flat, but it is a very old beer. Finish is honeylike malts, and a lovely dry resiny hop finish. Overall - this is fantastic, and has survived the ageing very well. The whole thing is so light, there’s no sign of 8.7+% at all. Respect, StaPa, the first Finnish micro brewery I ever heard of, and the one I fell in love with immediately afterwards.

Golden colour, slightly hazy, firm white head. Distinct aroma of banana and white wine(!). Sweet and full bodied, fruity, pineapple flavour. Honeyish finish.
