Bottle. Golden, small to average and fully diminishing head. Light to moderate, malty - lightly grainy and lightly sweetish aroma, light bread and faint grassy hoppyness. Body is medium, malty - lightly grainy and l sweetish flavor, light caramel and light bread, faint hoppyness. Finish is average, malty - lightly grainy and lightly sweetish, light caramel and faint hoppyness. Helles with caramel and faint hoppyness - really nothing special.

Bottle. Head is initially medium to large sized, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is light to medium yellow. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain), lightly to moderately hoppy (honeysuckle flowers, herbs, lemon oil), with notes of lime zest and spearmint. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. Ridiculously good, and a very clear cut above the average Helles, for many reasons. Even from the appearance I felt a little bolt of excitement, since I got this nice big, sticky, lacing, lasting head. Bright, lovely, flowery hops (even faintly citrus-oily/almost-resinous...very fresh smelling without the yucky raw pine sap odor that Americans seem to love) in the nose. Super clean and perfectly balanced in the mouth, it’s virtually impossible to stop drinking. No husks, no soap, no diacetyl, no flaws at all. Velvety, substantial mouthfeel on top of all that? That’s when you know you’re in 4+ territory. And hey, it even has Walt on the label, what more could you want???

Bottled, 4th July BBQ with skykob and mowbeer. More landbier than helles which is definitely a good thing. Light golden with a thin head; Aroma of pungent hay; sweet peachy malt and a prickly finish. Maybe not a great beer but a great style

Hoppy aroma. Clear, golden coloured with a thin, white head. Taste is hoppy.

Bottle @ Mega Bavarian Beer Tasting in Schlitz. Clear golden appearance with a white head. A little spicy grainy, straw pale malty, a bit floral aroma. Lightly fruity, dry, crisp pale malty, a bit carbonated/lightly acidic, pale malty flavor. Not bad.

Süßlicher, gering hopfiger Beginn. Eher wäsrig-bitter wird das Bier im Mittelteil, sowohl Hopfen als auch Süße verschwinden dabei. Zum Ende getreidig-malzig. 8/8/9/8/8/8

UPDATED: JUN 13, 2012 Bottle. Nose is strong citrus, sparkling golden malt, lager yeast. Clear yellow-golden with a sudsy, brilliantly white head. Taste has some drive-by grains and rough patches, but the mellow crispness with layered maltiness throughout more than makes up. Medium-body with firm but low bitterness, above-avg mineral content, and mild pricks of spicy yeast. Hops add an earthy floral component but are backed way off. Clean and well-made. [Sept 2011: 3.5]

Bottle in Bamberg, marked 19.07.12. Nose sweet grassy and floral tones, light bready malt. Sweet, slightly grainy taste with floral vomit funk, dries a touch. Light body, light golden. Not my thing. [May 2012: 1.8]

Bottle @ Bamberg. Pours clear golden with a small off white head. Very malty and grainy nose and flavor. Bit of grassy hops. Smooth. Decent.

Clear golden with a medium white head. Malty nose with hints of hops. Malty flavour with hints of grassy hops. Finished dry and bitter.
