Maria (9963) - Thisted, DENMARK - JUN 6, 2010
It’s dark amber with a huge, creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, caramel, nut-chocolate, light syrup. The flavour is moderately sweet with notes of caramel, light chocolate, hints of licorice and nuts. The finish is dry with light notes of citrus. It’s a nice dunkel.

UPDATED: SEP 3, 2011 Orange brown color, small frothy head. Caramel aroma cabbage and barnyard smell. Sweet flavor with caramel, chichorei and a velvety edge. A bit skunky aftertaste. Not entirely succeeded dunkel. (2.2) Re-rate august 2011. Tap @ Hotel zum Löwen Schwabthal. Carame;aroma. Maltflavor. Sweetish with milk chocolate, toffee. Sticky mouthfeel. A bit too sweet.

pivnizub (8576) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - JAN 22, 2006
Bottle (from Landbierparadies): Brownish-amber coloured, thin, but firm and stable "dirty" white head; clean, sweet malty aroma: caramel, roasted malt, a tinge of hops, too; malty flavour: slightly sweetish, distinctive caramelly, becoming dryer towards the finish; some bitterness in the aftertaste. A well made, clean Dunkel, not one-dimensional !

Bottle in Schlitz. Pours a clear, dark orangish brown appearance with a tan head. Rich caramel malty, straw nose. Somewhat nutty, toffee, caramel/straw malty, noble hoppy flavor. Pretty tasty.

Ernest (6031) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAY 15, 2013
Bottle. Head is initially large, frothy, light brown, mostly lasting. Body is medium brown. Aroma is moderately malty (roasted nuts, toasted bread, caramel, cookie), lightly hoppy (herbs, flowers), with notes of toffee, marzipan, orange zest. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. Another winner from Staffelberg. I like this brewery...they know how to make a beer enticing, clean, and balanced. This is a session beer and how!
