Quickly disappearing head, salty flavor pretty highly carbonated, yeasty flavor, dry aftertatste, a similar flavor to a coors lighth, but a little stronger in flavor and characterand not quite as sour, nothing offensive and definitely not a sweet beer, but not hoppy or sour.

16 oz can:
Clear, light gold with a tall, sudsy, white head.
Sweet corn, barley malt aroma.
Taste is sweet....the same players.....corn, barley malt.....and a little bit of light, light fruit....
Not really bad at all....I have a soft spot for old, classic "macro-type" lagers....PBR, Hammís, Blatz....for what it IS, itís exactly right.

Stag is a good, drinkable and no nonsense beer. Itís not going to overwhelm those into craft beers. Itís not for those into light beers either. But itís highly respected by those around Southwest Illinois as a beer that tastes much better than itís price range normally would

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Clear, yellow pour with a soapy, white head. The sweet aroma has corn and wheat. It has a light body with thin texture, average carbonation, and a very dry finish.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
12oz can from Frank pours with a crystal clear watery gold body that supported a weak tan head. The mild aroma offers up some nice corn and pilsner like maltiness followed by apple to pear like fruity esters. The taste has a bit of a hoppy tang to it that has a citrus sense to it. It also brings corn and mild apple to pear fruity esters and then a sliver of malt graininess toward the finish. Not bad and this stays clear of being overly sweet.

Can @ Presidential Suite. Pale straw pour with a white head. Very bland and somewhat watery. A lot of grain and adjunct sweetness. Some grass, apple, and a bit of lemon. Slight chlorine. Flavor is just sweet water, basically. Grain, some corn, and a hint of bread. Fair amount of lemon...slight tangyness.

I am drinking this while taking a break from entering my ratings from RateBeer Summer Gathering 2014 in St. Louis. I actually had this there but took some time home as it is one kind of beer I really enjoy drinking and wanted to take some time w/ it. I donít recall thinking much of it during our tastings but it seems to be a perfectly fine beer right now. It is perfectly clear blond. The head is foamy but sticks to the glass in a nice lattice of lace. The nose is mild as is typical of the style but there is a nice bit of fresh cut hay, albeit tainted by a very slight metallic overtone. I suspect most of this I will drink right out of a can so that is no big issue but it is worth mentioning for the sake of thoroughness. The taste of this is relatively dry and lack of bitterness in the finish creates the impression of sweetness which brings out a lemon note from the hops. This is a bit fizzy right from the can but poured in a glass, the carbonation is much more subdued and combined w/ the light body makes for a nice and drinkable beer. As it warms, some cornflake grains come out and it begins to take on a more creamy texture which is also nice. This is not a head turner by any means but a solid brew and a cool little piece of St. Louis culture. Like all of the beers, that have been conglomerated by the Pabst Brewing Company, I cannot help but wonder what it used to be but what it is now is good enough for a six-pack and so good enough for me.

Quarter. Golden pour, mundane grain adjuct smell. The flavor was really bad on a shot palate, sweatwater. Bought a 12 pck at the store afterwords.

Can. Tasted at RBSG grand tasting post-tasting. Clear pale golden color. Minimal ring of white head. Decent dots and bits of lace. Smooth kind of soft lighter carbonation. Light to medium body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. Moderate to bigger sweet taste, bready flavor. OK decent lager. Not much to it but solid stuff
