Flaska från systembolaget. Svart med beigebrunt skum. Maltig doft med lakrits torkad frukt och choklad. Samma toner i smaken plus en viss rökighet.

Bottle bought on ferry to Åland. Malty, chocolate , coffee . Less sweet than other baltic porters, which is good. Maybe a little too much smokiness.

Lyhyt maku, joskin ihan hyvä. Suutuntumakin lyhyt, mutta sekin hyvä. Puolivälin olut.

Kauge (603) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - MAR 21, 2015
Bottle as a gift from Helsinki. BB unreadable. Brown in colour, head is tan and big, retains and laces nicely. Both nose and taste - chocolate and toffee with some sourish notes. Tastes consideably bitter as well, especially in the finish. Lactic. Very sweet. Pretty harsh lingering bitterness in the finish. Carbonation active, body medium, palate somewhat grainy. Not too sure about this. Ok to sip while watching a stupid 1980s Sci-Fi movie.

Rune (9079) - Tromsø, NORWAY - MAR 21, 2015
330ml bottle bought at Alko in Kemi. Pours a big rocky, fawn-coloured head to a coal black body. Crocheted lacing on the glassware. Taste of brown malts and sweet chocolate. The taste profile follows suit with milk chocolate, dried fruits, and caramel nicely offset by a roasted bitter ending. Well bodied. Enjoying (shared with djoeye, Tromsø 16.03.2015).

Cocoa milk top, about black body. Aroma; coffee, milky chocolate, brown bread, very nice, in harmony with the colour of layer on top. Taste; coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malts, milky notes. Smooth and soft in the mouth. Sweet milky cocoa’ish finish, good. Nice baltic porter. [33cl br.btl abv7% BB1.9.2015 B@Alko Fi Kemi T@SessionInTromsoe16mr2015]

Dermi (733) - Helsinki, FINLAND - FEB 10, 2015
Pig & Rooster Baltic Porter, 7 % alc. vol. 33 cl, bottled. Pours black with a creamy light brown head. Aroma: Chocolate, coffee, roasted malt. Baked old potatoes. Taste: It’s kind of sweet, some bitterness. Vanilla flavours. Palate: Low-medium body, some carbonation. Strong chocolaty bitterness in the end. Sweet baltic porter. Not bad.

THIS IS NOT BALTIC PORTER.

Aroma is on the lower side of porters, with the classical notes that should be there. The taste on the other hand is another case. A pretty sharp attack from the roasted malt with an almost stingy character, upfront and quite fizzy. It lands pretty quickly on your tongue and dissipates really quick. The aftertaste has a fair amount of alcohol. This is a good Baltic Porter and there is nothing wrong with it, but it is nothing really that leaves a mark either.
