3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Tbone_. Almost black color. Slightly smoked, roasted aroma with pear. Malty sweet smoked flavor, like beechwood. The smokiness is soft but pleasant, as is the beer.

Bottled, thanks oh6gdx! Near black, creamy head. Sweet and mildly roasty with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Some sugary coffee. Finishes with low bitterness. Quite nice on the surface, but there seem to nothing underneath.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle, thanks PC!
Dark beer with light brown head. A lager, but related to a Baltic Porter, appropriate to its origins. Nice flavour of roasted malt, som nuts and coffee. Dry coffee and liquorice finish. I’d love an extra strength version of this!

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
(Bottle BB 19/11/07) Roasted malty, coffee and licorice aroma. Black colour, sedimentation in the bottle and average size, light brownish head with fair lacing. Roasted malty, coffee and licorice flavour with a hint of smoke. Slightly sticky, medium-bodied and softly carbonated palate with a hint of alcohol. ’Stallhagen Dunkles’ is definitely the best Stallhagen brew I’ve tasted so far! 13/06/07

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
courtesy of oh6gdx - very dark brown colour under a firm and creamy beige head; nice lace; toasted, almost smokey maltiness, notes of cookies and butter; soft and creamy mouthfeel, low carbonation, sweet and medium-bodied at best, a late but fair bitterness; finishes moderately dry, long, toasted and malty - a nice one

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draught. I really wonder if they’ve changed the recipy since the couple of first reviews? This thing is very thick and smokey, almost like a celtic porter! Very strong tobacco and smoke aroma. Quite bitter, roasted taste of malt. Almost completely black with just a hint of red. Lovely roasted finish.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draught@Park hotel in MAriehamn, Åland. They call it ’Granit’ (=eng. ’Granite)’ at this place if you ever get to visit. It’s almost opaque red/brown in colour. It has a rich brown head as well. Thearoma is malty and hoppy, with a sweetness to it. It tastes of burnt malt and it has a sweet and dry aftertaste. Compelling.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: APR 11, 2007 (Bottled) Very dark brown, almost black, with a medium, creamy, beige head. Strongly roasty, sourish-malty aroma with licorice and hints of smoke and milk chocolate. Roasty and burned-malty, slightly smoky flavor with dark coffee, and a long, lingering, burned-bitter finish. Plenty of color malts here, yet remains somewhat balanced with other stuff. Medium-bodied, burned, slightly foamy-, but smooth-carbonated palate. The recipe has definitely changed since the first reviews... This one you can almost call a "slow beer"!
(Draught@HBF2006, was 5-3-5-2-10=2.5) Very dark, reddish brown color with almost no head. Sourish, malty aroma with metal hints. Sour-roasted-malty, dryish flavor with some burnedness, licorice hints, and mild bitterness in the finish. Medium-bodied, low-carbonated and slicky palate. A very nice and balanced, licoricey-roasty dunkel.
