COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our brewmaster, Mats Ekholm, was inspired by the red brown granite of the Åland islands when he developed Stallhagen US Red Ale.

Before Prohibition, American Red Ale was a popular variation of the Irish Amber ale in the US. This top-yeast beer was made of domestic, American raw material. The ale is relatively light but clearly hopped with definite aromas of dried strawberries. The full bodied taste has notes of coffee with smokiness from roast coffee.

Bought at the Stallhagen Brewery, Åland, Finland sep-14. USA-bitter but anyway smooth and rich of taste. Nice bitterness and aftertaste. The bottle says it’s has strawberrys and coffe in the taste. I don’t know... A good beer, specially since the Stallhagen beers ofter are a bit dull.

Bottle as a gift from Helsinki. BB 12.2015? Translucent dark orange colour, head is light beige, big with good retention and lacing. The aroma is roughish hops and sweet delicate malts. Pretty weak. Taste is better and more pronounced, with very sweet maltiness most dominant, then a rather strong hop bitterness follows. Fruits, toffee, marmalade. It finishes somewhat metallic dry with lingering grassy bitterness. Body medium, carbonation average. Not bad.

8.6.2014. Darkish amber, thick white head. Woody and grassy aroma with dark fruits. Taste also has earthy hops, caramel malts. A bit stuffy and lacks some punch.

Bottle. Nice creamy mouthfeel and a raw herbal and tropical hoppiness. Nice balance!

Orangebrun klar med høyt beige skum. Karamell, brød og lukt av kandissukker. Bittersøt smak, brent karamell. Den lette bitterheten sitter lenge.

Kindly shared by Jaghana Couleur cuivrée, mousse qui disparait. Nez malté doux, caramel leger et levures. Gout malté toasté, caramel assez doux, houblon amer et fruité agrume. Corps leger. Pas trop mal

Bottle 33cl traded with Nisse666 thanks. A light cloudy copper amber beer with good head and retention. Nose is nice on sweet malt and blond caramel. Aroma is on caramel, toffee and even vanilla touch, lot of grassy hops bitterness, light red fruit notes. With a bit more body this would be very nice.

0.33l bottle at Mariehamn. Beautiful red color, good head, sparkling body. Interesting fruity malt aroma of dried strawberries, mild coffee and some roasted smokiness. Refreshing fruity ale variante, easy to drink and quite tasteful... Fruity ending...

Aroma is sweet and candy-ish. Toffee and light hops is present. The taste is as I expected but at the same time a little more exciting than I thought. Sweet caramels and toffee, a very slight fruity hop bite evolving into a clean, medium body. The aftertaste is very low on bitterness and if you like that kind of brew, you can try this one cause it is rather well balanced.
