Our brewmaster, Mats Ekholm, was inspired by the red brown granite of the Åland islands when he developed Stallhagen US Red Ale.

Before Prohibition, American Red Ale was a popular variation of the Irish Amber ale in the US. This top-yeast beer was made of domestic, American raw material. The ale is relatively light but clearly hopped with definite aromas of dried strawberries. The full bodied taste has notes of coffee with smokiness from roast coffee.

Inget direkt fel på den här. En av stallhagens bättre öl helt klart. Lite knäckiga och subtilt rostade toner. Delar en flarra med Isabel.

Reddish brown to amber coloured beer that makes a nice head and lacing on the glass. Aroma reminds me of a British bitter with woody and nutty aromas. Taste is mostly bitter and body is medium full.

Pours clear copper with a big, frothy head. Aroma has dark fruitiness and notes of berries and caramel maltiness - decent, something from both malts and hops. Taste is light sweet, very smooth and malty. Caramel, toffee and dark fruits dominate, also some strawberries. Palate is light to medium bodied, not watery. Very smooth texture. Not bad at all, both malts and hops in the flavours.

On tap. Aroma with strong hop notes at first bit they disappeared pretty fast. Also caramel and some grain notes. Taste is balanced and rich, very nice. Caramel and grain notes balanced by a sharp but dominating hop bitterness. Nest I’ve had from Stallhagen.

Bottle. Amber, hazy, average mostly lastinghead. Moderate malty and sweetish aroma, caramel and some tropical - floral hoppyness, some grapefruit citrus hoppyness. Body is medium to full, malty and sweetish flavor, caramel floral fruitiness, light metal and some grapefruit hoppyness. Finish is average, malty and sweetish, caramel and some floral fruitiness, some metal and some grapefruit hoppyness. Caramel sweetish amber ale. OK hoppyness, but too much sharp metal in the flavor/finish.
