Ein Bier vom Zürcher Hopfenbauer so kraftvoll und funkelnd wie flüssiges Gold

It is a basical beer, in my opinion, of course. The colour is between brown and copper. The carbonation is regular. They show the hop flower but the taste is not so strong, but there is a small touch like caramel or sweet that it is not so bad.

Hazy orange color with small head. Aroma is grainy, bready, not much. Taste is bready, a bit bitter, full. Smooth. Bottom fermented feeling. Drinkable.

On 32 cl bottle at Brasserie Federal, Zurich. BB date 14.02.13. Golden color, good foam. SOme frutiness in aroma, also clear aroma of subtle hops (German style). Light/medium body and complexity. Good bitterness Pretty good beer

Mild hopfiger Antrunk, wenig muffig. Das Bier wird nun süßlich herb auf geringem Level, in Teilen trocken. Sofort milder, trocken gerstig, der Hopfen spielt kaum eine Rolle. Schnell ausgleitend, ohne Besonderheiten. Ein trinkbares Bier, weiter nichts. 8/7/7/6/9/6

Very slightly hazy golden coloured body with a mild copper tint and a very thin white head. Aroma of stale malt, funky cardboard, a touch of hops, metal and some old rice - not good. Medium-bodied; Assertive malt character with some fresh fruit, sugar and a surprisingly decent flavour. Aftertaste shows good balance, some hops coming through the malt and a good fruity finish. Overall, a better beer than looked and smelled, but definitely not as good as I thought it would be. I sampled this 33 cL blue bottle purchased from Drinks of the World in Zurich, Switzerland on 08-November-2009 drunk on this side of the pond at home in Washington on 27-January-2010. Best by date: 06jan10 - off by 3 weeks time - whoops!

Bottle, thanks Allen. Golden, plentifull carbonation, creamy head. Clear despite the yest clinging to the bottle. Spicy malt aroma. Sweet malt entry, creamy light stickymouthfeel, stays on the sweet side, stale, light grassy finish- could use a bit more hop zest to be balanced and live up to its name.

Bottled 33cl. Sampled at Brasserie Federal, Zürich. It pours a deep golden beer with a creamy white head. The nose is metallic. It reminds me of compost and has notes of flowery hops and soy sauce. Grassy. The flavor is acidic with no pleasant component at all. Sulphury with a mediocre hop character. Lots of vegetables. A hint of compost. Unpleasant aftertaste which is slightly buttery. Notes of apricots and peaches accompanied by a metallic touch. Very bad.

Blue bottle(Thanx to Quack-Duck):Golden to deep golden, slightly hazy, small, persistent lacy foamy layer, grainy - with a tinge of glue - nose, aromas of cardboard and grassy hops, some fruitiness detectable, moderate sweetish-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied; lingering bitter-fruity (peaches) and als sweet-malty finish. Disappointing aroma, all in all quite well drinkable stuff......
