Prairie Standard is our everyday beer. Its a light, crisp saison with a hoppy finish. This beer is dry hopped 1lb per bbl with Motueka hops. A lovely New Zealand hop with a spicy lime like flavor and aroma.

Bottle to chalice. Murky orange-gold with minimal, mostly dissipating head. Relaxed, pleasant nose with hints of citrus. Light body and carbonation. Mild taste with some orange notes and a little hoppy bitterness. Slightly medicinal finish with some subtle black pepper. Not nearly as aggressive as many Saisons, I really like this laid-back interpretation. Welcome, Prairie.

Now...this, this is what I’m talking about. Bright funk in nose and body solidly supported and slightly outdone by the funky citric hop. Oh yeah! I could easily drink this all day long. Now how to do that without having to re-mortgage the house......

Nice nose farmhouse nose with lime. Taste is pretty straightforward to style. Dry hopping privided a nice bright character to the beer. Preferred to keep the yeast out as it muddied up the whole dry hop thing.

12 oz. bottle from Tasty Beverage Co., Raleigh. Golden yellow pour with a frothy off-white head. Clean aroma of soap, light citrus peel, and straw. Taste features orange zest, lemon, and mild spicy hops. Unmistakably a saison but the hops mask the bitterness I sometimes associate with the style. A nicely done and very approachable beer.

On tap at Brouwer’s Cafe, pours a clear pale golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out farmhouse notes, citrus hops, and biscuity malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with citrus hops and weird farmhouse yeast. Surprisingly unsophisticated for a Prairie beer. Not very convincing - it’s okay.

Not a huge fan of season beers hence the low score. Pretty sour taste and dries out my mouth. Cloudy yellow like lemonade. Drinkable, but not a huge fan. (K)

Light hay, light florals, pretty good balance overall. Pours golden with good head and lacing. Light tangy finish with a touch of citrus. Tap at Snallygaster.

Prairie Standard may be a near perfect Saison. Bright yellow pour with a fizzy head which seems to reconstitute as you drink it. Nice aroma of lemony hops and just a touch of funk. Mouth feel is initially effervescent followed by balanced taste of lemon, hops and a touch of funkiness with a bit of peppery on the back end. Standard is a true joy to drink with lots of complexity.

Draft at Snallygaster 2015. Poured a hazy golden yellow color with a small off-white head. Aroma was light tart notes, sweet floral notes, light grain. Some herbal, spice notes, lemongrass. Pretty tasty.
