Cletus (5001), Connecticut, USA Dec 24, 2008 Pours gold with a thin white head. Smells of strawberries, sweet corn, appley. Tastes sweet and malty with a watery finish. DruncanVeasey (2690), The Penguin’s Arms, Europe, Warwickshire, England Apr 21, 2009 Vs Pilsner Urquell. Still yellowy gold with a high turreted head and impressively persistent lacing. Kolsch-like slight aroma involving sweet candyish malt, grassy hop, pale nuttiness, cork, hay, sweetcorn. Pleasant grassy pale lager far-removed from the cocktail of adjuncts I was expecting, with a decent nibble of pilsy hop bitterness. Definite soft conifer and bitterness to finish, no corn even if it’s there. Enjoyable, faintly candyish, grassy and refeshing. Not to mention preferable to 95% of the maize-flavoured yellow fizz marketed as lager in the UK and most of Europe. armando629 (953), Budapest, Hungary Jan 28, 2009 Pale yellow beer with a nice white head. But the beer has a minimal opalescent character... Some yeast in the beer?Sourish yeast character in the nose with some buttery yeast perfume. Watery texture, sweet malt and honey taste, hop in the finish. Drinkable but not an exciting one. bierkoning (5987), La Tropica, Netherlands Jun 8, 2007 Bottle, 60 cl, bought in an African shop in Enschede. Golden color. Fresh aroma with even a bit of flowery hops. Blandish but decent flavor with a light grassy hop character. Short aftertaste. Better as expected. shrubber85 (2833), Wallhalben, Germany Nov 17, 2004 Bottle. Slightly sour malt aroma - not bad. Medium yellow color with moderate head. Mild malt flavor - moderate carbonation. Fairly bland - interesting to know about the sorghum law although I can’t really detect it. Not unpleasant - a good enough beer. Ungstrup (14754), Frederiksberg, Denmark Mar 17, 2005 An orange beer with a small head. The aroma is sweet malty with hints of caramel and hops. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel, but the mouthfeel is flat and the body is thin. I bet this is better under the scorching sun in Nigeria than on a cold snowy winters night in Copenhagen. maeib (4677), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England May 14, 2005 Bottled. A straw/blonde coloured lager with a sweet malty aroma. The taste is more of the same with a bit of a stewed fruit feel to it. Better than a lot of pale lagers (suprisingly) but lacking in character and a little sickly. fiulijn (7150), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Feb 1, 2005 Deep blond color. Light aroma of paper and vanilla. Average common Lager, some sweetness in the front, more bitter at the end.
