2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottled beer, what I bought in Tiraspol. I try it from plastic bottle and glass bottle too. Nostalgic watery taste of zhigulevskoe from soviet era.

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottled. Finally - one of my most sought after beers! Pours hazy golden with lively creamy head. Citric nose. Light bodied with creamy malt. Citric and fresh, most likely past it’s prime (after all it’s a zhivoe pivo), but who cares? It’s a simple, yet drinkable from a wonderfully weird Stalinist place. Shouldn’t this count as a beer from the USSR?

2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
"Old Fortress Classic Beer" from "independent" country Transnistria, which, de-jure is a part of Moldova. Pale golden with medium head and strong aroma of sour milk, yeast and something God-only-knows else. Some graininess and sourness in the palate. The aftertaste wasn't hoppy or aromatic - it was just bitter, very bitter. Strange stuff, indeed.
