Pretty good, actually-- not only is it not bad for a contract-brewed cheap beer at Maxima, but it’s pretty good for a Czech pilsner! Less hoppy and with cleaner malt than usual, has a nice balanced taste and pretty full palate for 4.7 abv

.5l bottle @Vihreä Haltiatar. Pours clear golden with low head. Aroma is hay, grass, malts and hops. Flavor is malts, hops, alcohol, grass. A bit stingy palate.

Can. Golden body, medium head. Aroma has bread and Saaz. Medium hoppy taste with some bready malt. Finish turns metallic. Could be richer. And cleaner. It’s lacking in many parts but for me even average Czech Pilsners feel better than most of the the underhopped Pale Lagers out there. Good cheap price too.

500ml can. Dark golden color. Medium size, white head, stays. Sweet, malty, chewing gum, faint hops in aroma. Dirty, sweet, barley malt, cereals in taste. Dirty grainy puke in aftertaste. Medium carbonation. Just bad.

Can from Maxima XX in Tallinn. Canned 18.06.15; BB 18.06.16. Pours a deep clear amber with a moderate white head, leaving very little lacing. On the nose it’s rather pleasant with sweet honey-like notes, some hay, and minimal wet cardboard. Tastes sweet, there’s this honey note and the hay, but the Saaz bitterness is perhaps a bit too restrained (but it does accentuate later on). Very soft mouthfeel with thin but crisp carbonation, and a bit of a grainy dry finish. Faint buttery notes. Pretty nice - all in all a pleasant surprise from Maxima, this is probably the best beer in my sorry ass local shop right now.

500ml can. Another overrated czech pilsner. It has dark yellow colour and quickly bubbling big white foam. A little watery but it has some alcohol taste also, i don’t know why. Aroma is very light sweet, light bitter and very light cheesy yeast. There is some untasty diacetil?

clear darker golden colour, moderate sizen white head;aroma of herbal and grassy notes with hay and grains; well ballanced bittersweet taste - correct pilsner

Clear straw colored beer with a medium foamy bright white head that lasts. Musky nose of wet cardboard hops, corn, and bread. Flavor has a grainy sweetness offset by some musky hops that grow in intensity through the finish. Crisply carbonated, this is pleasant enough, but fairly generic.

Bottle. Bright, effervescent hoppy nose. Classic pilsner. Extremely dry and crisp. Medium bitter after taste. About as good an example of a European pilsner as they come.

Tall white top, clear golden body, crocheted lacing all over. Aroma; butterish malts, grassy sweet hops, dusty sweet bread. Taste; caramel malts, apple’ish toffee, grassy hops, dusty straws. Few dry spots on palate, soft and nice. More hops coming forward in finish, plus brown bread. This lager is made with Saaz hops, and tastes softly with some buttery notes as czech svetly style, a desitka 10° with abv as an 11°.
