3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Red chesnut brown, with a thin, but very persistant light brown head. Wonderful burnt/roasted chesnuts, over an open fire, with lots of smoke. . . The fire is blazing with large oaks surrounding. Woody, gritty palate that is all around nice, different and unqiue. Strong flavours of sweet oak, smoke, buttered toast, a fabulously well balanced and flavourful beer.

Roasted, brown sugar and chocolate nose.
Amber brown, low creamy brown head. Chocolate chip dough entry, nicely balanced by flowery and grassy hops.
Medium to light body, light sparkly mouthfeel. Light roast and hop aftertaste. Still very pleasant to drink.
Old Rating: 7/4/8/3/16. From tap.
Dark brown, low head (mailnly due to serving I think).
Nutty, chokolaty and roasted flavors. Full yet refreshing. Nutty aftertaste.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Super rich, dark amber with a huge, frothy, foamy head thats 2 inches and sticks around. Settles, leaving patchy, tight, webby lace. Smell is very deeply roasted malt with a bit of liquorish and some floral hop notes, somewhat soft. Taste is about the same as the smell, very soft, subtle, and smooth with good deeply flavored maltiness, slightly earthy. Theres some very subtle hints of liquorish, dry hops, and maybe even some rye. Its a bit on the light side in the flavor and feel though. All in all, this is a pretty decent dark lager.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
(330 ml bottle). Beautiful ruby colour, moderate head. Malty sweet aroma with hints of oak. Mellow flavour - a tad too sweet in my book. Low bitterness. Not a bad beer, but it lacks "bite".
