A dark lager with an exceptionally fine taste which is talked about with recognition and admiration. Staropramen Dark is exceptional for its calming, full-bodied, sweetish caramel taste with gentle, hopsy bitterness. It is a taste you will never forget.

A classic dunkel. Very smooth and malty. Quite fresh and clean. A nice example of a great "dunkel" beer. Not as heavy and agressive as most German versions.

Red chesnut brown, with a thin, but very persistant light brown head. Wonderful burnt/roasted chesnuts, over an open fire, with lots of smoke. . . The fire is blazing with large oaks surrounding. Woody, gritty palate that is all around nice, different and unqiue. Strong flavours of sweet oak, smoke, buttered toast, a fabulously well balanced and flavourful beer.

Psyched to see this brew in Akureyri, Iceland. Delicious, though for the style it could’ve been less fizzy and a tad sweeter to really impress me. Thin body with lots of carbo and moderate sweetness.

From a bottle at Riviera Restaurant in Skövde. A nice darker beer, perfekt to a nice pizza (or anything else) :-)

#204 Schönes Schwarzbier mit röstmalziger Seele. Im Abgang könnte es zwar einen Tick herber ausfallen, aber insgesamt ein mehr als gelungenes Schwoarzes! Test vom 29.11.2009, Gebinde: Fass Noten: 13,12,12,11,-,12 - 11,94

Bought this 0.5L bottle in Prague while visiting and drank it back at home in Ireland. Pours a rich dark amber with a 1.5 finger head that had a bit of yellowish to it but was basically white and it disappeared slowly into a decent lace that stuck around throughout the drink. The smell was great malty hints and some light floral & fruity hints. The taste is exactly what you would expect from the smell and was very smooth going down with more and more light fruity sugary notes coming through as it warmed up. Not a strong or harsh beer that went down great and something I could drink all day long-wish it was more available.
