Braník is a typical Czech beer with a very refreshing taste, a natural "bite" and pure hopsy aroma. Braník Brewery was founded by a group of brewmasters from small historical breweries in 1899 under the name "Corporate Brewery of Prague Brewmasters".

Bottle. Pours clear golden with airy white head. Clear aroma of yeast and malt, with touches of hops. Bitter, hoppy flavour with malty and estery notes and some acidic hints. Bitter, metallic aftertaste with malty hints and acidic notes. Drinkable but not really enjoyable.

Pours a clear golden color, topped with a medium sized white head. Mild aroma, some grainy and grassy presence. Gentle/neutral taste, sweet start, mild bitterness in the finish. Grainy. Light body. Drinkable, but nothing amazing.

Among the Czech Svetlý beers this is the most boring one I’ve tasted. Appropriately it is listed as a Pale Lager as it doesn’t deserve really to be called a Czech Pilsner. A strange sourness in the aroma is surprisingly nice and the beer is overall quite inoffensive. However, it is very boring and watery.

500 ml can, as Braník Svetlý, bought at a petrol station near Prague. ABV is 4.1%. Clear pale golden colour, large white head. Sweetish pilsener aroma, some floral notes. The flavour is medium sweet, with moderate hops in the finish. No piece of genius, but drinkable enough.

50cl bottle from a small shop in Kaplice, Czech. Pours clear, fairly pale golden with a white head. Mild grainy and malty aroma with light herbal and grassy notes. Moderate sweet with a moderate bitterness. Not the most interesting beer, but a fairly drinkable one. Definitely on the lower end of the Czech beers, but fair enough.
