2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Sold by the can in a convenience store in Prague. Drank this on the front blockish steps of the Czech musuem for modern art, and Czech art. Random combination. So for the pivo... if Pepsi was fermented with cowshit, it would taste a little like this. But no, wait, it has a decent aftertaste, which is hard to say about a lager. Its fair, but not decent really.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
(Bottle 50 cl) Pale golden, decent head - although collapsing. Malty notes, subdued bitterness. Rather pleasant and quaffable - in big quantities...

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pale golden colour. Some fruity aroma, might be from banana. Also from hops. Has a strong metalic taste and has a lasting bitter aftertaste.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
GOlden standard-lager color, but the aroma is much greater. It is not as dry as most czech beers, has a well balanced sweetness with lots of malt in the palate. A nice beer that I could drink a lot of.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Very aged sample, label spells it as Branická Desitka Fully clear golden; head gone in secs. Hay, nuts, butter (younger, this would have probably been diacethyl). Nutty (hazel- and walnuts) taste. Was never hoppy to begin with, now the last trace has gone, leaving just (partly oxydized) maltiness. There IS some apple flavour as my learned colleague hereunder states, but in this case more like an overyear dried apple with a hint at its former fruitsour. Very light palated. That the beer falls flat is due to its age, and doesn’t reflect on the marks given. Exactly what it is; a light, cheap session beer for the Praha pubs.

Clear gold, little white head. Bourbon cask nose (which certainly NEVER contained this beer), rest very flat grain. Flat grains taste, even some chaff. Pale malts. Light bodied, bit empty. BO-O-O-OORING pilsner. How can Staropramen use the name of another Prague brewery?

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. The colour is yellow with a weak tint of gold. The compact white foam is two fingers thick.
The smell is fresh and a bit malty with some notes of a simple bitterness.
The carbonation is quite strong, which suits its style fine.
The taste is gentle with some sweet malt and a growing bitterness (Saaz?); there are some notes of with bread. The quite simple and bitter aftertaste got some notes of diacetyl.
Just another Czech pils: Neither exceptional nor bad.

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
This is a light-colored beer. Not much else to say, except that there are many different beers that are better to have while in the Czech Rep. Also, this could have possibly been the Branik 10 svelte also listed when searched for branik. My bottle said Branik Povodni Receptura Azlozeno Ceskym Sladiky...which doesn’t mean anything to this American.
