COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Staropramen Garnet is a unique lager that fully honours the tradition of our brewery. In the brewing process, which is based on the original recipe from 1884, we mix pale and specialty malts in the so-called "sprinkling" process. This gives the lager its typical garnet colour, gently bitter taste and full-bodied hopsy aroma

Draught: Dark golden beer with a fluffy head that disappears with some nice lacing. Weak malt and fruit aroma. Some malt sweetness immediately, but heavily hopped bitter flavour making it very refreshing.

UPDATED: JUN 12, 2006 Mostly lasting head, nice amber colour, moderat week aroma, OK flavour. Rerated as 6-3-6-3-11 june-11 2006 without knowing previus rating. So my tasting powers are still intact.

On tap at The Potrafina Husa, Josefov, Prague, Pasteurised, 500ml. Brown with white head. Another heavily carbonated Staropramen beer, sweet and sugary with a dull cardboard note. Not my favourite Brewer at all.

Bottle shared at End of History Tasting. Thanks to Cuso. Pours orange gold white head. Nose/taste of burnt bread crusts, bad grain and bad malt. Lighter medium body.

Bottled: Clear light amber coloured. Not much head. Aroma is sweet and malty. Some fruity notes. In the flavour I find malts, hops, flowers, fruits and some sweetness. The beer finishes dry and pleasantly bitter.

Red-golden with a weak head. The aroma is hoppy and the flavour is rather full considering the style. It has notes of flower, honey and a nice sweetness and an Ok bitterness. Quite OK.
