I agree with rogge.
Too dry for me. A beer shouldn’t be ’crispy’.

UPDATED: AUG 8, 2009 Canned:
Pours deep golden with a fluffy head. Sweet and malty aroma with notes of green apples. Flavour is sweet and malty with an almost sugary finish.

A lame, ordinary pilsener from the Czech Rep. Decent balance but not a pleasant taste.

Good hops bitterness. And good balance between hops and malt.

not much to look at, ordinary pale yellow, the head knows it doesn’t have to impress anyone. but this is a fabulous praguer lager and the reason you’re spending seven bucks on a six of this is to pour two of them into a stein and gulp it in voracious thirsty gulps like a bohemian lumberjack. the aroma is a lightly perfumy medley of those fancy, flowery expensive european hops and a snug cushion of malt like danish butter cookies or the crust of a good baguette. the urge to quaff is insuperable, so let go, drink deeply, see the vltava, hear dvorak... the palate is brisk, a trace of honey sweetness, tantalizingly bitter finish. i’m a fancier of much stronger beers, but at the light end of the spectrum, this one is grand.

An average brew when it comes to Czech pilseners, which translates into a damn good beer in the anglo-american world. Nothing wrong with this one, urquell and others are simply better...

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Its not like there was anyting wrong with this brew, its just that it was only slightly above average. With the word star in the name I thought this would be a lill bit better, but it was a solid average beer in the end.
