3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
With a green bottle and yellowed looking label I was expecting the worst but actually things turned out pretty good. The color was dead on with Pilsner Urquell but the head and lacing were not as durable, and it had a pleasant malty spicy aroma. On the short side of medium bodied, smooth and malty with a citrus tang and a mild bready note that developed as it warmed some. The finish lingered and was dry but not at all bitter. This beer definitely had the "Czech" quality to it and was quite drinkable, but seemed a wee bit skinny for a pils.

2.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draught, at the Hogshead, Birmingham. Very, very fizzy. Warm blonde colour, with a big, white, frothy head. Unpleasant, sulphur aroma. Metal flavour, quite sweet. Refreshing, but suffers against the other, similar beers which I tried this evening.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bright golden colour with a thick but mostly diminishing frothy white head. Strong sour grainy and honey aroma. Clean and crisp with lots of malt presence and a short but nice bitter hit on the finish.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Did this blind in a beer tasting and assumed from the shape of the bottle (they were Christmas wrapped) that it was Pilsener Urquell. Nice malty goldn pilsener, well balanced with a nice amount of hops. Pleasant.

Light fresh pils from Prague (hope the story about where they get their water from isnt true -the river Moldau). Anyway a fine refreshing beer that reminds me alot of Urquel. Lots of hop and bitterness.

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma seemed a bit off and the head was weak, but otherwise a decent Czech of the Urquell type. Malty and hoppy but not as well done as the standards for the type.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
I was a bit surprised by the nice light gold glow of this one, but maybe just because my last two lagers were Miller Lite and Coors Light. The head is nice and white and slightly soupy, but no bigger than middling. The aroma is mildly hoppy, maybe a little skunked. The flavor is more malt than hops. It has that bone-dry straw malt flavor that a pilsner is supposed to have, but there's something slightly unpleasant going on. Fairly drinkable but there's something I don't like about it. It does have that nice slightly creamy mouthfeel that Bitburger and a few other quality pils have.

1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
12 oz bottle, pils glass, 50 degrees F. Tall, white, foamy head is quickly diminishing and sits on a pale golden body with champagne like carbonation. Light bread, grain malt (L); perfume, grassy hops (M); apple, chalk, mint, and skunk aromas. Lightly sweet, lightly acidic flavor becomes a lightly bitter, moderately sour, moderately acidic finish. Medium light body, watery texture, lively carbonation. The bottom line is: an absolutely wretched concoction. Note: I know this bottle was light stuck, just like the other five in the 6 pack. But seeing as this is how many people are bound to experience this beer, the rating stands.

1.3 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
I thought this one would be different: but, green bottle, skunk inside. Becks, Heineken, Pilsner Urquell, Spaten, St Pauli Girl, etc. I can't do it. PU is much better and that isn't saying much Pink tan hue. A little better as it warms up but not my thing. If not for bitterness it would be a complete loss. I'm pouring it out and reaching for a High Life.
