2.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 7/20
huge sour corn mash aroma as soon as the bottle is cracked open. Flavour isn’t much better, classic corn malty goodness of a international pilsner. Its bright and fresh, thirst quenching, but not dynamic.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Keg on the Exeter crawl - The beer of the night woohoo. Joy o joy. Actually this wasn’t that great. Some decent maltiness and hints at hop character, but sweet and thin and all in a fairly poor pilsener.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: OCT 24, 2005 this beer is a little on the sour side, finishes dry but not as crisp as it could. Not a very good pilsner compared to some others out there.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: NOV 3, 2005 Green bottle, skunky aroma. After the skunk passes by, the flavor is pretty good. Good malt backbone, and plenty of hop counterbalance blended smoothly to a highly drinkable beer approaching Budvar or Urquell. No sharp edges except the foul aroma. Good medium body. This could be a fairly decent beer if you could get it without the skunk. (2.8) ..... 11/02/2005... second try.. Ok, got one thats not skunked this time. Aroma is much more pleasant, malty, almost marzen - like. This is very drinkable. Flavor is smooth malty goodness with some respectable hop crispness. Not bad. (3.0)

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured from a bottle into a pilsner glass forms a good head. Nice golden color. Crisp, earthy nose. The first sip hits me with hops (saaz?) and hops. Then finishes sweet with another hop rush and then sweet again. Bold bready, hoppy aftertaste. At $4.99 a six pack it’s...well...it’s a good beer.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sharp punget aroma. Pale gold with an adequate head. Well balanced with a nice malt body and assertive hoppiness. Definitely more hoppy than most of the euro lagers and even other pilseners I have had. Good brew.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
A very decent czech lager. Typical golden colour with average head. Its taste is quite bitter with wheat aromas and an somehow abrupt and bitter finish.
Quite generic, I’d drink it just before dinner, with friends, maybe along bread with a tunafish or black olive spread on it.

UPDATED: OCT 3, 2005 Not as good in the U.S. as in Prague, but still nice and crisp. Very drinkable. A good beer for a long and distinguished evening.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Poured a golden with a respectable white head (while it lasted, which wasn’t long). Mild skunkiness from the green bottle, but it dissipated after a few minutes. Predominantly grassy aroma, with a faint earthy undertone. I’m not a big fan of the style, why pay import prices for the same flavor as cheap american lagers, but this one isn’t as bad as most.
