Good enough, but nothing special. Bitterness becomes too apparent when it warms, so drink this one cold.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours golden with small white head. Nice hoppy aroma and flavor, but unfortunately a little skunky. I would like to have this one minus the green bottle. Balance slightly more to the malt versus Urquell. Good example of this style.

2.5 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
This lager pours a clear yellow with a short lived white head. First scent is VERY skunky. Damn green bottle. Trying to get through the skunk, it seemed to be like every other lager from this region. A little more richer than the others, this one tastes better. More caramel and a hoppy finish. Not what I expected.

From the tap in Kingston JDWs. Pours deep gold colour with decent head and lots of bubbles. Crisp hoppy taste, slightly sweet but well-balanced, an excellent pils.

1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
UPDATED: JAN 20, 2011 I had never had this one so curiosity got the better of me. Sampled from a 12 oz green bottle ( a sin in my book ) this beer poured a golden amber color with only a trace of a white head. The aroma was sour, malty and tangy. The flavor is sour, lightly malty and finishes even more sour - and not in a good way. The beer is also vaguely skunky. Wholly forgettable. ANY BREWER WHO CONSENTS TO PUTTING THE BEER IN A GREEN BOTTLE SHOULD BE BANNED FROM EVER BREWING AGAIN!!!!!!!

2.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle bought at some street vendor in Prague. My bottle looked different, but im pretty sure its the same beer. Hoppy, medium-malty beer. Some hints of honey nuts, but mostly grains. Bitterness towards the end. Actually, for a hoppy-lager, pilsener, I enjoyed it. But that might have been because I was in Prague;)

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JAN 24, 2006 This beer has a very complex taste: it begins with an almost fruity aroma followed by the bite of hops and ending with a rich grain taste. It acheives all this while remaining clean and refreshing. I tried this again under the name "Staropramen Premium Beer" and I can’t figure out if it’s the same brew or not; it was a while ago that I last drank it. This time around it’s an equally excellent brew, if anything it tastes a little bit less grassy, less fruity, and has a richer, fuller malt flavour.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Smooth and creamy. Drinkable, which is above average for pils I’ve had. Beats Urquel. Clean, decent malts. Slight citrus in saaz hops. Good carbonation in finish. Balanced but on sweetish side.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
500ml green bottle. Medium golden with a disappointing thin white layer of bubbles covering the surface. Some grass hops in the aroma, funky malt. Malty body, some sweetness. Flowery hops deliver a little flavour and bitterness.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: DEC 31, 2004 Hoppier than Czechvar but only just. Not as grassy/floral hoppy as Urquell, which on a good day is really complex, but might as well leave that one for Prague, enjoyed fresh. Most balanced sweetness of the three, at least on this side of the Atlantic.
