Pale gold in colour with delicately flowery aromas and a taste in which hop crispness and malty softness combines to highly drinkable effect.

Barva, pěna, vůně a chuť vytváří unikátní senzorický profil tohoto spodně kvašeného ležáku uvařeného z 2 druhů sladů a 5 druhů chmele, včetně žateckého, který je srdcem tohoto piva. Znalec ocení typickou pivní vůni a chuť, které ve vzájemné harmonii dávají tomuto středně až silně prokvašenému ležáku příjemnou pitelnost, ležákovou plnost s osvěžujícím řízem a obsahem alkoholu 5%. 12 EBC.

UPDATED: OCT 20, 2007 Seriously disappointing. I was expecting a full flavored, pils, or, perhaps, a toned-down pils for the American market. What I got was little more than an under-hopped lager. Indeed, my reaction to the mouth, the nose, the appearance, was uniformly "just a well made lager." // Just a lager ... maybe not even well made.

Bottled. Pours a pale amber color with lacy white head. The aroma is lightly citrus. Light body with medium carbonation. The taste has some nutty, spicy notes with a piney finish. Tasty, but seems a bit light on the malt and hops for a Bomemian Pils.

Sweet smelling, fairly sweet on the palate, some hops with a bitter finish. Decent with spicy food.

When I mention to people here in Sweden that I drink beer, they always mention Czech beer, especially Staropramen as if it were some sort of holy grail. Let me assure you, it is not. I struggle to find flavours other than a stuffy stale maltiness and a cloying sweetness that makes me want to go drink something else.

A moderately pleasant Czech pilsner. Not as good as Urquell, but drinkable in a pinch. A hint of Saaz aroma, and a reasonably dry finish.

UPDATED: JUN 11, 2006 Staropramen Premium Beer. 330 ml green long-neck bottle. Deep amber colour. Clear. Medium-sized white head that fades away quickly, but leaves »laces«. Aroma of white bread and alcolhols, with some citrus. Watery mouthfeel. Taste of citrus and white bread. A nice balance between sweetness and the hoppy bitterness in the aftertaste. A little dissapointing, however - I find that it lacks comlexity and character.

Dark yellow, very smal head. Slightly skunky aroma, and hints of Cheerios and maybe cherry. Surprisingly bitter at first, then a peppery flavor as well. Also kind of unpolished, and the roughness makes it more interesting.

Moderat hoppy aroma. Excellent frothy white head. Mostly diminishing longevity. Clear light yellow body. Bitter heavy initial flavor. Palate, light to medium.

33 cl bottle. No yeast at the bottom. Golden clear colour with a small head. Light grassy aroma with notes of malt. Malty clean flavour with a hoppy and bitter/dry finish. A well made Pilsener, but someway too average.
