COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Starr Hill Amber Ale is an award-winning Irish Red Ale. Brewed in the tradition of the great English ales, its rich honey color hints at its smooth, caramel flavoring. With a medium body and slightly sweet finish, this is an extremely drinkable brew that is characterized by rich malt taste and low bitterness.

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a hazy burnt red to orange color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute leaving some light lacing sticking and then sliding into the beer. The smell had a nice roasty to burnt semi - sweet caramel dirty earthiness to it. The taste pretty much did the same thing leaving a rolling burnt shredded caramel malt - leaves that toasty effect in the aftertaste to impart on the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly okay sessionability about it. The carbonation was somewhat subdued to allow a rolling subtle smoothness to it. Overall, this one was an okay red ale. It’s not necessarily one that I would seek again.

Rated on 3-29-2011 (Bottle purchased at Total Wine & More-Ft. Myers, FL) The appearance is a small fizzy ivory head that mostly diminishes, reddish body and very little carbonation observed. The aroma is caramel malt, lightly hoppy and fruity. The flavor is caramel malt and fruity. The mouthfeel is soft carbonation and this beer is light-medium bodied. Overall, this beer lacks character and no WOW factor. The flavor is boring and bland.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, citrusy hops, and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, straw, and a bit of hops, leading to a bitter finish. The body is light.

Very nice beer. Had on-tap at Washington Hilton. Carmel/ Beige head melts away quickly. Dark amber color. Carmel and malt taste on palate, with a bit of sweetness. Slight bitter finish. Very enjoyable and easy to drink. Paired with pizza. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
