Bottle. The pour was a very dark brown almost black with a large (2-3 finger) rocky tan head that was mostly diminishing and produced excellent lacing that was left sticking to the glass throughout.
The aroma was of a dark bread malt and a musty leathery yeast with notes of chocolate, coffee, nutmeg, pumpkin and a bit of cinnamon.
The taste was lightly bitter and malty with a hint of roasted coffee at first then slowly acquired a mild chocolate presence with a touch of pumpkin and nutmeg that progressed into a mild bitter finish. The flavor lasted only a short while after the swallow which slightly affected the overall taste experience.
Mouthfeel was just a tad under medium in body and creamy yet a little dry in texture with a nice soft carbonation.
Overall a decent robust Porter with a very nice aroma. Although there was more pumpkin and spices in the aroma than there was in the flavor.

1.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
Pours a dark chestnut brown color tht appears black and nearly opaque in the glass with faint mahogany edges and a half finger beige head that quickly settles into a thin ring. Minimal spotty lacin left behind.
Slightly smokey, robust dark malt aroma with a prominent autumnal spice presence. Strong roast character with hints of charred toast, oatmeal, coffee bean and dark chocolate. This is countered by heavy spices, especially allspice, coriander, clove and ginger. Some pumpkin purťe in there as well with sweeter dark malt notes, notably chocolate and toffee. Somewhat artificial smelling with a overpowering potpourri scent that overwhelms the pumpkin. Smells like an overly spiced porter with just a touch of pumpkin.
Lighter bodied than expected with an overwhelming autumnal spice presence and acrid burnt malt flavors. Iím not picking up any pumpkin at all, just burnt malt and dry spice. Lots of pepper, clove and ginger without much else on the spice front to balance things out. Also, the malt character is lacking sweetness with overly dry charcoal flavor. Hints of ashtray, burnt wood and charred toast making this beer intensely dry and unpleasant. Even a little bit of pumpkin or sweeter malt flavor would help this beer but as is, itís a mess of a beer that I dumped down the drain.

Pint on tap. Opaque, deep chocolate body has just a smattering of enduring bubbles. Nose is mocha, pie spice and a nice touch of squash. Tastes of spiced pumpkin on the front turn to dry cocoa and dark coffee. Finish is a nice mix of all the flavors with a lightly sour squash note. Near-medium body has a nice balance and a smooth, low-medium carbonation.

on tap at the brewery; dark brown-black color; nice aroma of pumpkins and roasted malt; pumpkin flavor blended with roasted malts to make it more tolerable; as much as I hate pumpkin beers, the dark, roasted malts make this one work

2.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle - Pours a clear brown with amber highlights. Aromas of allspice and clove (pumpkin pie) somewhat artificial. Taste is muddles with some tartness, spice, caramel; itís all over the place, not for me.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12 oz bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance: The body has a deep copper like amber color with good clarity. Itís head is small, white In color and fades slowly as I drink.
Smell: There are some nice pumpkin pie spices coming through with a deep maltiness backing it up.
Taste/Palate: I get really nice light coffee notes and a good malty base. It also has a nice balance of pumpkin pie spice. The palate has a firm feel with good carbonation. For me this is one of the more drinkable pumpkin beers. Everything is in very good balance.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a very dark brown color with orange highlights and a large foamy orange-tan head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was malty nutmeg and clove. The flavor was bitter, roasty, and woody with nutmeg, clove and nuts. Medium length finish. Medium body. Meh.

Comes out of the growler opaque chocolate brown with a thick and frothy tan head. Roast malt aroma has notes of cinnamon, pumpkin, and caramel. Flavor has pleasing malt, pumpkin, spice, and subtle caramel notes - a joy to drink! Texture is firm and smooth, if not too fizzy. Box one up - and leave the car at home, please.
