Bottle thanks to Dmac. Pours out a dark brown color with a small off white head. Aroma is of enchilada sauce, strange spices, and caramel. Taste is equally as odd as the aroma, vegetables, light chocolate, some pumpkin notes, burnt chocolate, some more odd spices. Very strange.

Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Smells a little of chocolate and a very subtle pumpkin. Taste is a touch of chocolate, a hint of pumpkin, and a very subtle spice note. Medium-bodied with a smooth, wet texture and soft mouth-carbonation, Starr Hill Boxcarr Pumpkin Porter finishes with a faint kiss of pumpkin.

Very dark red, no head to speak of, and poor lacing. Slight cinnamon odor. Earthy taste with a real bitterness that I haven’t tasted in other pumpkin beers. Most disappointing was the lack of any pumpkin flavor to speak of.

Pours dark brown, the small head fades quickly. The aroma is slight. I picked up on a little malt and some spice, maybe allspice. The taste is slight, too. This thing is watery. Nothing at all up front, but in the finish there is a little bit of pumpkin and spice. And I mean a VERY little bit. There is just nothing going on here. But at least it doesn’t taste bad.

On tap at Anthony’s. Dark brown, white head. Roasty nose and spice. Dry roast flavor, spice here but light. Lighter robust porter.

Poured from tap at GoFest in Roanoke. It’s supposed to be a porter with spices and pumpkin added, but the additions are so small that it’s almost too subtle to notice. Tastes like a nice porter with incredibly subtle hints of pumpkin sweetness and very soft notes of cinnamon and nutmeg.

If sessionable = watered down then they succeeded. Some ok spices in the aroma. The pour has a huge foamy tan head w/ spotty lacing. The taste has a very unbalanced blend of spice but doesn’t resemble a porter. Way too watery! Not very good!

Pours dark brown with a tan head. Roasted malt aroma with pumpkin spices. Sweet caramel malt flavor with roasted malt notes and some smokiness. Cinnamon and nutmeg finish with slight hops in the finish.

Darrk brown hint of orange pour. Aroma of ppumpkin spices vanilla cinnamon, allspice. Flavor really not much there. Bit of tart infectedness.

UPDATED: JAN 25, 2014 Bottle->willibecher. Deep brown with small tan head. Roasted malt, holiday spices, pumpkin notes, as expected. Not really a porter, and not really good. Mild and boring.
