3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12oz bottle from a 6er from Crossroads Spirits. Poured a good looking blackish/brown with a large frothy beige head. Aroma was really awesome, on first whiff I would have thought I was smelling some type of spiced muffin, notes of nutmeg, cinnamon, roasted pumpkin that combined with the dark malts really made me think of a carrot cake type muffin, very nice. Big full mouthfeel with foamy carbonation, a bit too big. Flavor sadly drops off big time from the awesome aroma. The spices are there but very muted, some medium toast and grains, a touch of light cinnamon and some wet bread. Overall this started great but did not hold up.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aroma: Distinct pumpkin spice that stands above the porter backbone
Appearance: Opaque black with thin off-white head
Taste: Bubblegum, spice, dark chocolate
Palate: Medium body, good carbonation, slightly dry and bitter finish
Overall: Spice flavor is subdued in the flavor, but still a pleasant beer. Very drinkable, not overly spiced.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pours a near black color with effectively no head on it. Nose has a decent amount of pumpkin spiciness to it, but slightly darker than an average pumpkin ale. The roasting in both the nose and taste only come through subtly and secondary to the pumpkin. OK, but nothing notable to me.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Sixer from Harris Teeter. The pour’s brown with a small off-white head. The aroma’s general pumpkin spice. Moderate nutmeg, cinnamon. A bit of pumpernickel bread and caramel. The taste is more of the same. Tangy spiciness. Vanilla extract. Toasted brown bread. Light body, sort of watery. Active carbonation. Overall, decent.

Nice, first pumpkin porter that I have had. I love this time of year and pumpkin beer.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Very light on the pumpkin, more in flavor than aroma. This is a roasty porter first. It has a very mineral water profile, almost chemical, like it is chlorinated.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap. Pours a clear dark brown body with a small foamy light brown head that faded to a thin film. The nose is pretty nice, a mix of chocolate malt, pumpkin meat, vanilla, and maybe a touch of nutmeg and molasses. The flavor is fairly sweet up front with a nice balance of sweetness from the malt and subtle spicing and authentic tasting pumpkin. Finishes with burnt caramel and a touch of malt bitterness. Light to medium bodied, a little clingy with soft fizzy carbonation. Pretty decent effort. I like the pumpkin flavor in this.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Pours black with no head to speak of. The aroma is pumpkin pie spice and little else. The taste has a light spice, maybe nutmeg, and some light roast. Thin palate.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
THOUGHTS: Not as good as I was hoping for. Sort of watered down. And what flavor was there was sour. Pumpkin and pumpkin pi spices were very subtle.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a dark brown that was nearly black in the glass with red highlights and an average, tan head that kept a thin sheet ad left barely fair lacing. The aroma had light; roasted malts; hints of chocolate and sour coffee; a little sour pumpkin; and hints of pumpkin pie spices. The initial flavor was slightly sweet and lightly sour and bitter; while the finish was lightly sweet and bitter, and moderately sour with an average duration. There was roasted malt, sour coffee, hints of sour pumpkin, slight pumpkin pie spices; and a little chocolate. But overall it was a little watery. The medium body was oily and then dry with soft carbonation and a lightly astringent finish.
