3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 Fl. Oz. bottle. Poured dark brown (almost black), off white head, quite foamy, lots of lacing on the glass. Aroma of spices and roasted malts are dominant but there also some pumpkin in there too. Taste is also roasted malts a starts a bit sweet, but the characteristic sourness of a porter kicks in right away, spices are there and also the pumpkin but the are a bit faint (regrettably) but overall a nice solid beer.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Rated from notes taken 15 Sep 2011 -- Porter kinda dominates any pumpkin flavor. The pumpkin parts are too subtle in my opinion.

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Dark cola pour with some mocha head. Burnt soy sauce, licorice, dark roast, caramel, tire, pumpkin and spice. The aroma is a bit too much for me. Good carbonation in a medium and creamy body.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
From a bottle. Pours dark brown with almost no head or lacing. Smells of pumpkin and spice, but the flavor profile doesn't work that well for me... Meh.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours cola brown with a creamy off-white head. Aroma of cinnamon, pumpkin, and roasted malt. Cinnamon flavor upfront with pumpkin, chocolate, and hint of roasted malt flavor. Creamy body and surprisingly good lacing.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Poured from 12 oz. bottle at Quarry House Tavern in Silver Spring, MD.
Very dark chestnut brown with a 2-finger tan head and good lacing.
Aroma of nutmeg, cinnamon, chocolate, roasted malt and nuts.
Taste of heavy cinnamon, roasted malt, nutmeg and brown sugar. The pie spices and malt are there, but taste "thin" and do not seem to play well together. Way too much cinnamon in there.
Medium/light body and medium/low carbonization.

2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Bottle thanks to Dmac. Pours out a dark brown color with a small off white head. Aroma is of enchilada sauce, strange spices, and caramel. Taste is equally as odd as the aroma, vegetables, light chocolate, some pumpkin notes, burnt chocolate, some more odd spices. Very strange.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Smells a little of chocolate and a very subtle pumpkin. Taste is a touch of chocolate, a hint of pumpkin, and a very subtle spice note. Medium-bodied with a smooth, wet texture and soft mouth-carbonation, Starr Hill Boxcarr Pumpkin Porter finishes with a faint kiss of pumpkin.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Very dark red, no head to speak of, and poor lacing. Slight cinnamon odor. Earthy taste with a real bitterness that I haven’t tasted in other pumpkin beers. Most disappointing was the lack of any pumpkin flavor to speak of.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours dark brown, the small head fades quickly. The aroma is slight. I picked up on a little malt and some spice, maybe allspice. The taste is slight, too. This thing is watery. Nothing at all up front, but in the finish there is a little bit of pumpkin and spice. And I mean a VERY little bit. There is just nothing going on here. But at least it doesn’t taste bad.
