4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 20/20
Double Platinum pours a deep golden amber. The head is short and foamy. The aroma is strong with fresh grapefruit. The taste is very bitter with citrus notes lingering in the back of the mouth. The finish is smooth and tacky. Hoping for more of a crispness there. This Double IPA really stands out from the pack and it really packs a punch at 8.5%.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draught at GBBF 2011. Pours a near clear amber with very large khaki head and very sticky lacing. Nose is floral and grapefruity pineapple hop. Flavor is the same hop profile, but with a distinct hop sweetness up front, that transitions to a mild bitterness on the very tail end finish. Palate is chewy and medium full bodied, moderately low carbonation.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from bottle. Piney hop, earth and soap in aroma. Amber with white head, lacing. Pine and citrus hops dominate flavor, with grass, basil & earth notes. Malt is not as prevalent as in other IPAs. Alcohol not noticed at all in taste. Just right on carbonation. Mellows as it warms to a nice finish. Well done.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On Draught at South Street served in a snifter. A slightly cloudy amber with light lacing that retains well. Sweet fruit in the aroma along with citrus, sugary bubblegum and piney hops. Medium body which is low on carbonation and oily slick, A slight numbing bitterness lingers and lingers. The flavor is sweet sweet hops, some peach and again sugary bubblegum. Overall better than I expected.
