3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle split with mcberko. Pours a cloudy copper orange with a small head. Aroma of piney hops, caramel, a bit of honey and light resin. Flavour is very citrusy, with the hops seeming to dominate the caramel backing, and some orange peel. Smooth mouth feel. Nicer on the nose than on the tongue. Still enjoyable nonetheless

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz. bottle, pours a slightly hazy but mostly clear golden orange with a small white head. Loads of resinous hops on the nose with substantial caramel malt to balance. Flavour is intensely bitter with citrusy hops dominating the profile with little malt balance to detect. Some orange peel / lemon zest in there as well. Quite good, though this is way out of balance. Enjoyable nonetheless.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Not a very good IPA. Mine tasted very mettalic with not enough malt tone. A little bit one-dimensional.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 19/20
6-pack from Growlers on Hilton Head Island. Bright golden pour with a decent white head, bits of lace. Pungent aroma of big citrus, piney as can be, some heat too. Lots of pine and citrusy fruit from top to bottom. Lovely mix of lightly sweetened fruit and bitter hops. Mouthfeel was big and slick, oily, carbonation somewhat tingly. A top notch double from Starr Hill.

Cask (gravity) @ GBBF 2011, Great British Beer Festival, Earls Court Exhibition Centre, London, England.
Unclear medium orange colour with a average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, moderate to heavy hoppy, orange - citrus, overriped orange, mandarin. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, overriped orange, citrus, alcohol. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat.

Bottle. Clear, amber, and with a prolific head of rocky foam, this beer expels the sickest, piney aroma Iíve enjoyed in a while now. This drinks with a warmth worthy of furniture polish, but has a medium body. (#4241, 9/8/2011)

Cask (gravity dispense) at Great British Beer Festival, day 3, on 4 August 2011. Gingery amber colour. Some haze. Fairly juicy, resinous hop smack in the aroma. The resinous nature kicks in even more strongly on the palate with chewy fruit and some caramel. Strong grapefruit, pine and bitterness on the finish but thereís some sticky sweetness too which takes the gloss off a little for me.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: NOV 12, 2011 Cask at GBBF 2011. Slightly peachy golden colour. Aggressive aromas of citrusy hops. Slightly sweet and oily on the palate, before hops, hops and more hops kick in. Very long finish with grapefruit to the fore. A bit too much alcohol lingering to be best in breed - drinking it served to remind me that it really was an 8.5% beer.

Bottle. Pours a deep amber-reddish with a soft frothy amber-white head. Smells of bittersweet hops, grapefruit, and pine. Taste is bitter grapefruit peel and pine with a slight peppery finish. Nice.

Pretty impressive. Pours amber with a nice white head. So much hops! Aroma and taste are full of them.
