COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Starr Hill’s Jomo Lager is a smooth, multiple-award-winning Light Amber Lager. Fermented with Southern German Lager yeast, its crisp, clean taste, and noticeable hop aroma are effectively balanced with a slight malty sweetness. This is a crossover beer that appeals to the broadest spectrum of brew aficionados.

Bottle. Pours gold with a white head. Sweet toffee malts and herbal hops. Not that good.

I concur, is this pronounced, "homo lager"? Interesting. Drsilverworm sent me this as an extra -- many thanks, sir! Pours an instantaneous orange juice color with a brim off-white head. Smells straightaway of flour dough. Really, flour dough? I also detect juniper berries, hop oil and citrus. Tastes citrusy with an underlying malt bite by mid-palate and reasonable bitterness and busicuit chewiness by swallow. Peppery notes also detected. This is a drinkable, competently brewed Vienna but certainly nothing amazing.

12oz bottle, thanks to Andrew. To a spanish-speaker, would this be pronounced "homo lager"? Fun. Bottled 7/5/12. Clear golden color. Minimal white head. Sweet flavor, kinda zesty. Corn, hay, bread, pepper aroma. Smooth, lighter carbonation. Definitely a pretty alright lager. Some citrus. Good, but I liked the Starr Hill Pilsner much better. Andrew loves this, he bought a whole 12.

Total Wine, Chantilly 12oz ($2): Pours an amber color with a white head. Aroma is caramel malts and a bit of hops. Taste is mostly caramel malts. Subdued sweetness is present throughout. No off-notes. This is a simple session and seems to only want to be a simple session. For that, I can’t fault this beer.

Originally reviewed: 11/15/08. Picked this up from a ’make your own’ sixer from the Fresh Market. Pours a deep gold with a pretty small head. This dissipates to a thin sheet, but leaves a moderate amount of lacing. Smells of nice floral hops and fresh biscuits. This has a great scent to it. It’s very inviting. I dig the taste of this. I usually prefer ales over lagers, but this is one well-crafted lager. It has a nice amount of hop bitterness coming through that lagers usually lack. This comes across more like an APA, which is probably why I dig it. There’s a nice balance to it as some of the creamy sweetness also pulls through. I’ve really come to like the brews from this "local" brewery. This one is no exception. Great beer that I recommend you give a go.

Pours a slightly cloudy amber with a frothy off-white head. Aroma is malt, caramel and some floral hops. Taste is also malty with hints of caramel leading to a light hoppy finish. OK.

Amber color with some fruity and earty after notes. It's an ok lager. It has a little different palate than most which makes it worth a try. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from giant sterling. Pours orange with a half an inch of white foam. A bit citrusy on the nose. Pretty smooth on the tongue with a slight hint of malt sweetness on the finish. It’s not lager but it could be worse.

12oz twist-off bottle. Light orange-amber color. Thin white head. Hint of cardboard in the nose. Finishes with a bit of fruit, sharp bitterness. Lots of crispness. Flavor of toast, sweet malt, and woody tannins. A good summer Lager.
