2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Off white head on the pour, but it didn’t last at first; but held up after it warmed a bit. Light amber body is very appealing. The aroma is light spicy and floral hops with a decent bready malt... Also a touch of green apples. Flavor isn’t quite as pronounced on the swallow with the above, but it is balanced to sweet up front with a honey-like flavor. A touch of bitterness in the finish and aftertaste is most welcome to help balance out the sweetness. Also a touch of herbal hop flavor at the finish and aftertaste. Prickly carbonation and light but not watery body typical of lighter lagers. Overall, not a bad beer!

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Golden amber color. Aroma is malty with a slight hint of spicy hops. Taste has some biscuitiness and a slight malt sweetness. Otherwise it is a pretty clean. Nice dry crisp finish with just enough bitterness to balance it out.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
I concur, is this pronounced, "homo lager"? Interesting. Drsilverworm sent me this as an extra -- many thanks, sir! Pours an instantaneous orange juice color with a brim off-white head. Smells straightaway of flour dough. Really, flour dough? I also detect juniper berries, hop oil and citrus. Tastes citrusy with an underlying malt bite by mid-palate and reasonable bitterness and busicuit chewiness by swallow. Peppery notes also detected. This is a drinkable, competently brewed Vienna but certainly nothing amazing.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
12oz bottle, thanks to Andrew. To a spanish-speaker, would this be pronounced "homo lager"? Fun. Bottled 7/5/12. Clear golden color. Minimal white head. Sweet flavor, kinda zesty. Corn, hay, bread, pepper aroma. Smooth, lighter carbonation. Definitely a pretty alright lager. Some citrus. Good, but I liked the Starr Hill Pilsner much better. Andrew loves this, he bought a whole 12.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Total Wine, Chantilly 12oz ($2): Pours an amber color with a white head. Aroma is caramel malts and a bit of hops. Taste is mostly caramel malts. Subdued sweetness is present throughout. No off-notes. This is a simple session and seems to only want to be a simple session. For that, I can’t fault this beer.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Originally reviewed: 11/15/08. Picked this up from a ’make your own’ sixer from the Fresh Market.
Pours a deep gold with a pretty small head. This dissipates to a thin sheet, but leaves a moderate amount of lacing.
Smells of nice floral hops and fresh biscuits. This has a great scent to it. It’s very inviting.
I dig the taste of this. I usually prefer ales over lagers, but this is one well-crafted lager. It has a nice amount of hop bitterness coming through that lagers usually lack. This comes across more like an APA, which is probably why I dig it. There’s a nice balance to it as some of the creamy sweetness also pulls through.
I’ve really come to like the brews from this "local" brewery. This one is no exception. Great beer that I recommend you give a go.
