COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Starr Hill’s Jomo Lager is a smooth, multiple-award-winning Light Amber Lager. Fermented with Southern German Lager yeast, its crisp, clean taste, and noticeable hop aroma are effectively balanced with a slight malty sweetness. This is a crossover beer that appeals to the broadest spectrum of brew aficionados.

From a bottle poured an amber color with a small amount of head. Light malty flavor with a quick finish.

Bottle. Amber body. Fizzy, white head. Aroma of toasted grain, vegetables with a hint of caramel. The flavor is lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Medium body, watery texture and lively carbonation. Some biscuit taste along with canned vegetables. Hint of caramel, grain. Drinkable, but average.

Tasty but not overwhelming with flavor. In fact, I like this beer when it is rolling around on my palate but the flavor goes away really quickly. That’s my biggest critique.

Ok beer I think it is too hoppy and not dark enough in color to be considered a lager. Taste and looks I would call it a light hop pale ale but a tasty one at that.

Pours golden amber color with think white head. No real high notes here. Fairly carbonated and stale hops are the main points here. Not terrible, but just another run of the mill brew

This is about as average of a beer as you can get. It pours a dark golden color with a nice-sized white head. The head leaves a cascading lace around the glass. But unfortunately, that’s the best this beer offers. The nose falls short, offering only slight hints of bready malts and light hops. The flavors are even more bland. Drinking this beer is more like drinking carbonated, malt-and-hop-flavored water. I get a little maltiness in the finish with some light and slightly spicy hops. But that’s it.

Pours a light copper with a thick head. Aroma is off and the beer is sour. Not a fan. Please let me find a good beer.

Excellent appearance, a little too sweet, but just the right amount of hops balance the whole package nicely.

Bottle. Nice mellow vienna. Quite easy to drink with a slight grassy nose and a alight lingering bitterness. Sweet, bready malt throughout.

Bottle courtesy of DosBeerigos--thanks, Phil! Served in a pilsner glass. Pours a moderately hazy red-copper color with a half-finger white head that sticks around for a bit and exhibits some small white bubbles. A bit of lacing afterward. The nose brings forward a bit of bready malt plus a touch of toast. Some mild earthy hops there as well. The taste has a very pour showing--slight infection has set in and there is a bit of an acetic presence. Very unfortunate. Other than that, there’s a mild cherry-skin presence along with some breadiness in the background. Slight bitterness in the finish, but the coming vinegar takes over. Another infected bottle; quite a shame. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 03-05-2011
