Starr Hillís Jomo Lager is a smooth, multiple-award-winning Light Amber Lager. Fermented with Southern German Lager yeast, its crisp, clean taste, and noticeable hop aroma are effectively balanced with a slight malty sweetness. This is a crossover beer that appeals to the broadest spectrum of brew aficionados.

This is about as average of a beer as you can get. It pours a dark golden color with a nice-sized white head. The head leaves a cascading lace around the glass. But unfortunately, thatís the best this beer offers. The nose falls short, offering only slight hints of bready malts and light hops. The flavors are even more bland. Drinking this beer is more like drinking carbonated, malt-and-hop-flavored water. I get a little maltiness in the finish with some light and slightly spicy hops. But thatís it.

Pours a light copper with a thick head. Aroma is off and the beer is sour. Not a fan. Please let me find a good beer.

Excellent appearance, a little too sweet, but just the right amount of hops balance the whole package nicely.

Bottle. Nice mellow vienna. Quite easy to drink with a slight grassy nose and a alight lingering bitterness. Sweet, bready malt throughout.

Bottle courtesy of DosBeerigos--thanks, Phil! Served in a pilsner glass. Pours a moderately hazy red-copper color with a half-finger white head that sticks around for a bit and exhibits some small white bubbles. A bit of lacing afterward. The nose brings forward a bit of bready malt plus a touch of toast. Some mild earthy hops there as well. The taste has a very pour showing--slight infection has set in and there is a bit of an acetic presence. Very unfortunate. Other than that, thereís a mild cherry-skin presence along with some breadiness in the background. Slight bitterness in the finish, but the coming vinegar takes over. Another infected bottle; quite a shame. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 03-05-2011

Had this on a warm summer evening outside at a bar on a deck. Had nice color to it, a deep amber color. Poured a lite colored head with some lacing. to it. It was tough to tell the clarity of the beer, since it was outside they gave it too me in a plastic cup, but from what I could tell I think the clarity would have been good. Smelled fairly balanced not too hoppy. It tasted pretty good. I again not overly hoppy, could tast some roasted malts to it. Went down pretty smooth, was very drinkable, Iíd get it again, or try more from this brewery if I had the opportunity.

This beer just shakes my beliefs. I thought I loved lagers, but I donít particularly like this one. It is just a bit too sweet for this style. I should j just quit with this and get Americas lager instead.

Not quite a light style lager but nothing overwhelming here. Nice flavor, clean and crisp, with a nice golden color and white head. Beer drinkers from all walks of life will appreciate.

Clear orange, medium head, piercing taste with some bitter fruit, grapefruit, and no apparent alcohol. lagers generally arenít my favorites, but this one lingered and had enough bitterness to cut through some spicy sausage and fish it was accompanying. The only thing I would knock it on was the general complexity...it didnít have a lot of interesting flavors I can describe and bitterness doesnít qualify. But, for the style, and the fact it was a lager, Iíll give it some kudos. Worth trying out.

Poured a slightly hazy orange/amber with a large thick off-white head. Orange notes in the aroma with a slightly tart yeasty quality. Taste is slightly sweet with some bitter hops. Orange in the finish with some skunky notes. Overall decent, but not that great.
