COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Starr Hillís Jomo Lager is a smooth, multiple-award-winning Light Amber Lager. Fermented with Southern German Lager yeast, its crisp, clean taste, and noticeable hop aroma are effectively balanced with a slight malty sweetness. This is a crossover beer that appeals to the broadest spectrum of brew aficionados.

12oz. Everything about this lager is sweet, sweet, sweet. Aroma is sweet, body is sweet corn. Fairly medium bodied for a vienna (of the ones Iíve had.) Nothing to get too excited about.

THOUGHTS: Nice beer, but lagers aren’t really one of my favorite styles. Even though I never heard of Starr Hill before visiting the brewery and buying five of their beers, they continue to impress me. This isn’t bad just nothing special. It did go down easy though. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a clear, light amber with a small, off-white head that mostly diminished and left good lacing. The aroma was light caramel malt and moderate to heavy flower and grass hops. The initial flavor was lightly sweet and bitter, and moderately acidic; while the finish was lightly sweet, light to moderately acidic and bitter, and sour with an average to short duration. There was a little caramel malt then lots of grassy hops and then finished sour. The light to medium body was sort of creamy with tingly carbonation and a slightly metallic finish.

Golden color with a small white head that goes away. Slightly fruity at the start before becoming very watery throughout. Highly fizzy. Almost seltzer water quality in there. bleh.

strong enough hop character that is more like a solid pale ale. this beer has a harsh chalky and grapefruit pith palate that finishes with a bit of earwax and leather with a bit of moldy hard cheese. a turn off for me. it finishes a little sweet with more citrus and an annoying feel in the back of the palate.

This is about as average of a beer as you can get. It pours a dark golden color with a nice-sized white head. The head leaves a cascading lace around the glass. But unfortunately, thatís the best this beer offers. The nose falls short, offering only slight hints of bready malts and light hops. The flavors are even more bland. Drinking this beer is more like drinking carbonated, malt-and-hop-flavored water. I get a little maltiness in the finish with some light and slightly spicy hops. But thatís it.

Golden amber color. Aroma is malty with a slight hint of spicy hops. Taste has some biscuitiness and a slight malt sweetness. Otherwise it is a pretty clean. Nice dry crisp finish with just enough bitterness to balance it out.

Had this one at Bonnaroo. Finally getting around to rating it. Medium-bodied. Smooth but not a whole lot of flavors. Lightly malty, bitter finish. Not terrible, but nothing Iíd try again.

This beer just shakes my beliefs. I thought I loved lagers, but I donít particularly like this one. It is just a bit too sweet for this style. I should j just quit with this and get Americas lager instead.
