1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20 AZBennett (84) - Chandler, Arizona, USA - MAY 21, 2013
Received in a trade, bottle date 03/13/13. Yuck, aromas of stale cardboard and super bitter hops. Pours the right color with a decent head. Flavors are just nasty, the epitome of skunk. Reminds me of a hopped Heineken that has gone off. Palate is thin and ends with a super long bitter finish. Overall, this was a drain pour. I have tried to stray from drain pouring, but I only got through a quarter of the bottle.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Westmeister (938) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - APR 22, 2013
Bottle. Pours mostly clear orange/amber with off white head and decent lace. Smell is citrus, caramel maltiness. Taste is big finishing bitterness, citrus, pine hops, larger bready malt aspect. Perhaps a bit past its prime, but underwhelming nonetheless. However, still quite rinkable.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 arventresca (484) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - APR 17, 2013
Bottle. Hoping it was an old bottle because this was sampled with a bunch of other IPA’s and was by far the strangest tasting and worst.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Ed5388 (521) - Forked River, New Jersey, USA - APR 16, 2013
On tap. Pours a light golden amber with two fingers of white head. Aroma of malt and bread with some citrus notes. Taste of earthy grains up front, with a heavy dose of malt and bitterness on the back end.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 coolfunnj (252) - Margate City, New Jersey, USA - APR 12, 2013
aroma is faint but floral and slightly roasty...nice looking amber color and creamy white head that leaves lacing..taste some bitterness up front but overwhelmed by a biscuity/lagerlike malt flavor..palate is light, slightly sticky and slick..overall tastes like a sweeter version of a lager i prefer more bitterness and oomph from an ipa
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 BlackWarrior (173) - Spartanburg, South Carolina, USA - APR 11, 2013
One inch white head on a copy pour. Some lacing but head becomes thin ring quickly. Citrus and pine hops w/ some spice...lemon/grapefruit. Crisp w/ medium body. Solid IPA that’s well balanced.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 rondphoto (983) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - MAR 24, 2013
Clear dirty orange amber with a frothy long-lasting head, big-bubbled sheets of lace. Taste is a conventional IPA - caramel malt at the beginning, pine hops take over somewhere through the palate, a little revisit of malt deep in the finish. Nothing special here, just another good American IPA.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Voodoo (173) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 21, 2013
Pours a deep copper color with a thin head. Aroma is doughy, thin pine. Light citrus moves to bread malt taste and very mild bitterness. Crisp, clean but not terribly complex but drinkable, would benefit from much more complexity as it is a solid base British IPA but does not stand out.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 60minuteman (432) - Frazer, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 13, 2013
Bottle. Decent hop flavor. Medium body and carbonation. Sticky palate, good bite with a good flavorful malt backbone
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 hfmejias (352) - Dover, Delaware, USA - MAR 10, 2013
12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured a clear amber with a little bit of white head. Aroma of mostly hops but not very strong I also get some hints of malts. taste is quite watery nice bitterness to it. probably a good alternative to introduce somebody to the world of IPAs since it is not that strong but it stills shows the qualities of the style. Easy to drink.
