Beerlando (3342) - Orlando, Florida, USA - OCT 11, 2009
Bottle. Pours a lightly hazy, dusky orange-amber hue with a small, smooth head of off-white foam. Tattered, spotty ribbons of lacing circle the glass. The aroma shows a moderately sweet toffee and caramel malt base, with hints of fairly fresh cereal grain. Orange and grapefruit hops provide resinous, bittering stability, while some boozy notes also emerge. Flavors are largely the same, well balanced between the toffee, grain, and bitter citrus hops. Simple, yet pleasing. The palate is substantial, initially leaning towards the sweet side but abruptly shifting towards dry and alcoholic. Pretty solid brew. Not great, but solid.

hopscotch (10265) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - SEP 30, 2009
Bottle… Clear amber ale with a small, frothy, white head. Good retention. The biscuity, earthy aroma offers additional mild notes of honey and pine. Full-bodied and lightly creamy with lively carbonation. The flavor leans way onto the bitter side of balance, even as the beer approaches room temperature. Good toffee and biscuit malts serve as an ample backbone, but can’t restrain the biting, earthy, spicy hops. Lengthy, bitter, and then dry finish.

tastybeer (1852) - Indiana, USA - SEP 19, 2009
Bottle. Pours dark orange with very nice head and lots of lacing. Hoppy with lots of citrus and pine. Leaves a hoptastic aftertaste but mostly unremarkable versus other IPAs.

DrBayern (1139) - Morehead City, North Carolina, USA - SEP 13, 2009
12 oz. bottle. Orange/amber body with a medium off white head, some good lace, and fair durability. Citrus and pine at the forefront in the aroma, with some dark toffee and slight fruitiness lingering behind. Medium body and carbonation, quite resinous, very dry palate. The hops assault comes early, overshadowing whatever sweetness the malt brings to the game. A strong citrus peel character dictates the lengthy, bitter finish.

12 oz, 5.8% abv. Clear, copper-amber with a lasting disc of bubbles. Aroma of earthy leaf, resin and light caramel. Taste is similar with some more resin, tea leaf and woody tones on the nice bitter finish. Near-medium body is smooth and dry.
