Sample at Samís. Donít really have much to say about it other than itís a very typical American IPA with a very typical hop profile. Poured amber with smallish white head. It is what it is... and it is what many others are, too.

Amber pour with caramel and citrus in the aroma, lightly bitter flavor for an IPA, drinks smooth. Not bad overall.

Bottle. Pours amber. Nose is caramel malts and citrus hops. Flavor is citrus and malt. Not too complex. Easy drinker.

Solid IPA. Nothing really special. Citrus pine aroma. Flavor is the same with a dry hoppy finish. Pretty nice.

Bottle, 5.8%abv. Smooth amber color, attractive one-inch sandy head is lumpy and persistent. Promising citric-herbal hop aromas plus caramel. A buttery, almost greasy malt flavor intros a fanfare of glassy hops that carry over into the long deep aftertasteÖ juniper berries, herbal/chocolatey, and a touch of cedar. This is the beerís highlight, like a lapdance on the tongue. Itís difficult to reconcile normally supergrapefruity Cascade with these flavors. Fullish, chewy palate; pinpoit carbonation is spot on. Remaining cottonball clumps of lace require a spatula to remove... my poor glass end up looking like a cheesy "sand art" candle. Very enjoyable IPA.

Bottle Pours an amber-orange with an off white head, The head is foamy and mostly lasting, provides good lacing. Has a aroma of citrus, earth, spices, caramel, and fruits. Has a good carbonation. The flavor is pretty good. Well blended. Has a good hop presence. Has an oily texture. A medium body. The finish is good and has an okay aftertaste.

bottled. Good IPA with enough hops to separate it from "every other IPA"... barley. Slightly sticky. While the citric bite is there, the mouthfeel is soapy with a slight iron(?) aftertaste. Itís good, but w/ a name like Northern Lights you expect dank.

bottle BB november... the year i am unsure of... pours with a pale coppery hue and a rocky light tan head. itís got lots of splotchy clingy lacing. there is a distinct aroma similar to a hand full of pennies... mixed with grapefruit, orange, caramel malt, cinnamon-like spiciness, dirty earthy hops and dried apricots. initially, it tastes like blood?.... along with grapefruit, grain, caramel, spicy hops, orange, juniper-like sweet pine and dirt. the palate is far too sweet and out of balance. the only bitterness comes on the finish though it is not really dry. meh. 6/3/6/3/12/3.0

Bottle from the grocery store. Pours out a copper orange color with a white head on it. Smell is grassy, fruity, hops, grapefruit, and some sugary malt smell. Pretty good tasting beer too, refreshing, hoppy, not over the top. An easy drinking, yet run of the mill IPA. Doesnt stand out in the sea of IPAs. I would buy it again though.
