Very nice... not a strong chocolate nose, which lost it points, and the flavor was not overwhelming chocolate either. But it had a delicious strong bitter taste, like a dark chocolate, that I loved.

Draught Black pour with nice creamy head. Aroma of roasted malts and a hint of hops. Very malty flavor in the nose followed by hop flavor on the back of my tounge. Very well ballanced. Good session brew, will definatly have again.

Tap at RFD for Winter Holidaze Extravaganzee. Pours a dark, dark brown; khaki head with decent lacing. Huge amounts of coffee in the aroma; milk chocolate, lightly spiced. Light-to-medium mouthfeel: dry coffee, milk chocolate, and roasted malts. Slightly dry finish: coffee and bitter chocolate. On a side note: the brewer’s a moron and speaks often of "brand name" rubbish. He might as well sell out to BMC right now...

On tap at Starr Hill April 4, 2006. Black with a small brown head. Not much of a smell at all. Nice bitterness in the mouth with a slight bite. Extremely long and lingering bitter finish.

Draft at Capital Alehouse. Black appearance, nice tan head lasted well, more like a stout in appearance really. Aroma was faint, hint of coffee. Medium body, flavors were primarily coffee, hint of chocolate. Wouldn’t have guessed that special ingredients had been used to achieve these flavors. Not a bad beer, enjoyable, but not a standout.

RFD Strong Ale Tasting. Suprising average for Starr Hill. Very light body porter with only a light touch of coffee.
