3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tried on tap from Starr Hill at GoFest. Pours a slightly hazy golden color. Head was full but dissipated quickly. It’s actually quite a nice hefeweizen from a local brewery. It’s missing some of the wheat flavor that would be expected from an excellent brew, but the traditional clove aroma and flavor is there as is the tartness on the finish.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Transfer from BA review on 7-7-12 -
Poured from bottle into pint glass
Appearance – Pours a hazy yellow golden color with a medium white head. The head faded very fast to give only a light amount of lacing.
Smell – The aromas are heaviest of wheat and yeast. There are notes of pepper and banana as well as a very light citrus flavor.
Taste – The taste starts out wheaty and a little on the sweeter side; the sweetness is of a citrus orange nature. The sweetness fades slightly over time as flavors of yeast start to work their way into the taste. A light peppery and banana flavor accompany the yeast and take the flavor to the end.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer was on the average thickness with a carbonation level on the higher side of things. Both fitting, but rather average for the style.
Overall – Not a bad brew and quite easy to drink. Well worth a try.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
DATE REVIEWED: July 18, 2014... GLASSWARE: Weihenstaphaner weizen... OCCASION: beautiful camp day to a close...APPEARANCE: cloudy golden yellow body with generally large bubbles at the bottom of the glass; quickly flattening head--zero left behind, creating a bald brew... AROMA: banana and bubblegum--a yeast strain that is a bit clean for a hefe... some clove late... PALATE: crisp, reasonably medium-bodied; swift aftertaste; not really unfiltered... TASTE: yeasty banana, and yet not too flavorful; slightly acidic, but rather smooth overall, missing the rougher, more natural flavor profile of a hefe... OVERALL: refreshing on the deck at Friday 5 pm, yes--flavorful enough to distinguish itself or hold interest, no...enough to be a hefe, definitely not; the sampler hit on two of four (the IPA and pils) and struggles elsewhere...

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Clear golden pour with a small, creamy white head. Aroma is yeasty with a lot of banana. Banana flavors dominate, light clove, yeast and light fruit. Finish is a bit sour and soapy. Good flavor, finishes flat.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Interesting brew. Definitely some hefeweizen characteristics, but I didn’t pick up on much of the banana and clove. The appearance was nice but nothing special. Same for the taste. Definitely pour it in a glass. Tried a few sips from the bottle, but the carbonation was overpowering. Not bad, but this one is not for me.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A none too offensive German style hefe. Pale malt, corn, wheat, pine, citrus and mild spices. Balanced with a little peppery zest bite on the end. Perhaps that’s the clove but I think it is more peppercorns. Light body. The spices come through as you drink it. I am enjoying this a lot.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
The beer is cloudy and bright golden with a small white and ample effervescence. The aroma offers banana, sugary candies, fruit esters. Bubble gum and banana flavor. A bit too sweet for my liking. Prickly carbonation with a slight bite in the finish. Overall, a noticeable step behind the leading German examples of the style.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Rated on 3-27-2011 (Bottle purchased at Total Wine & More-Ft. Myers, FL) This bottled beer pours a very, very small fizzy white head with a lengthy retention, opaque body, and one ring of lacing. The aromas are wheat, yeast, lemony, bananas, spicy, and clove. The taste is sweet, clove, bananas, wheat, citrus, lemon, and clean tasting. The mouthfeel is mildly tingly carbonation, and this beer is medium bodied. This is a session beer and an adequate beer on a hot, humid day.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma of cloves and banana’s, pale yellow slightly cloudy with a small well laced head. Taste of bananas with a hint of clove. A watery short lasting palate of spice.
