Bottle. Clear golden with small white head. Sweet malts with a touch of fresh baked brown bread. Caramel and light musty fruits. Slight herbal finish with just barely any bitterness. Not a bad lager.

Bottle from a Baltic supermarket in Walthamstow. The dark brown glass bottle had me fooled - thought it would be a marzen/darker style of beer. Pours a pale gold with a quickly dissipating head. Not as much aroma or flavour as the previous Melnik I had, more of a standard uneventful lager.

lager jakby ciut lepszy niz zwykly.

500ml bottle from Tallinn, clear yellow colour, small mostly vanishing fizzy white head, some lacing. Moderately malty aroma of grain, caramel and hay with light grassy hops. Taste is initially moderately sweet and acidic and lightly bitter, turning into bittersweet finish with a mildly boozy feel. Medium body, oily texture, lively carbonation. Half decent lager, one of the better Russian ones. Nothing insanely good in the grand scheme of things however.

0.5 bottle. Clear, pale gold color and a medium, white head. Sweet aroma of grains, cereals, as well as some heavier, caramel and bready malts. Taste is sweet and mostly malty though not free of hoppy influences. Medium body, slick texture, and soft carbonation. Finish lets the malty features run wild and generally emphasizes them. Overall the beer is surprisingly good, it simply hits the spot for me when it comes to simple lagers.

500 ml bottle. Bottled on 17/12/13. Thanks Brandman!
Clear pale golden colour with a small white head. Sweetness, malt, cereal and mild alcohol in the aroma. The flavour is malt, mild grassy bitterness, alcohol, mild sweetness and dryness. Rather drinkable.
