VENOM (941) - Connecticut, USA - JUL 22, 2002
Clear chartreuse. Fast dissipating foamy white head. Light carbonation. Clean aroma, hints of sulfur, hard water and spicy/lemony hops. Crisp and bracingly biting. Sharp mouthfeel. Bitter and spicy hop aftertaste with some lemon peel notes. Quenching and easy drinking. Clean and hoppy with a delicate malt backbone. Hints of sweetness. Hard water finish with more lemony notes. Better than expected.

Straw color with a decent white tight bubled head. Aroma of light floral hops. Light crisp malt flavor with a dry slightly bitter finish. Very nice light clean lager when cold. Fresh sample: Best By 18, 06 2003.

UPDATED: MAR 15, 2008 Not only does Russia have hot women but they brew good beer too. I expected a bottle of vodka with yellow food coloring but it was actually a decent pilsener. I would buy this again anyday if I could get it in South Dakota. Good old Ruski’s, you gotta love em.

Golden-amber colour; fresh, grassy nose; biscuity palate, with a herbal-grassy hoppiness. Not especially bitter, but a pleasantly hoppy finish. Quite refreshing, and a standout amongst the world’s pale lagers.

Very carbonated brew.Medium sized head that faded quickly.Nice golden color.Malty aroma ,that is slightly hopped.Slight citrus presence as well in the aroma.Almost a lemon grass smell for the citrus aroma.Taste is mildly hopped malty slight lemon grass after taste,an almost metallic taste as well,it might just be this bottle.nNot bad but definately could be better.

Another Russian beer. Pours a quite pale golden color, clear, with a decent white head of average retention. The aroma is pleasantly malty and grainy, easily picked up by the nose. The taste is slightly sweet at first, followed by a very nicely balanced body and a pleasantly bitter finish. One of the nicer Russian pilseners I had.

My first taste of Russia. Pretty good hops, pale yellow in colour and nice frothy head. As indicated in previous ratings, I’m not a big lager fan...but this was a good one.

Bottled. Gold colour, good white head and moderate condition. Sweet malt and distant solvent in the nose, clean and malty in the mouth and lingeringly bitter in the finish.

Embrouille (2830) - SWITZERLAND - NOV 27, 2008
Bottled 50cl. Malty, buttery, smooth components accompanied by a hint of lemon. Slightly sulphury? A tad salty. Buttery finish with a hint of nuts (walnuts and hazelnuts) and candied fruits. Very pleasant. Flawless flavor.
